Come now Joey, you should know by now that #macrumors has been officially renamed #gaymacrumors due to massive influx of rainbow coloured nicks in the channel.

Funny isn't it? The stereotypes? I like rock music, baseball, track and lift weights and I'm queerer than $2 bill. Oh-and I missed out on the showtunes gene too. :)

I've been called a candidate for gaydom.

I love my Macs and I drive a VW. And I ride a bike and wear lycra when I do. In my defence, it's a diesel Golf and the iBook is beat to hell 'cause I've had to crack it open and fix it a few times. I do look like a fairy when I'm in my cycling gear though, pointy clicking shoes and all.

Paul Newman's line in Slapshot sums it up for me though (and I play hockey too): the woman he's in bed with tells him she's been sleeping with women and asks him if he ever thought about being with a man, and he says, "Me? No. I see guys all the time in the locker room -- with got their cocks flopping around -- it's disgusting."

OK guys-are you ready? Did any one see Miss Congeniality 2? Apparently, according to a friend of mine, Miss Sandra Bullock manhandles a 12" iBook with no apologies. She doesn't break it, she just types really fast! So-is the iBook gay? :) Plus, my friend, who's also gay, named his 12" iBook Brenda. So maybe they are! They're too cute to be straight! :)

*Sigh* If only i had gotten the all pink iBook from that company that paints computers. I do have a pink iSkin cover for my keyboard. I also have a blue one, though, which I'm using right now...although it is time for a new desktop, and perhaps back to pink. :)

I'm gay and let me tell you all what I believe.

I believe in fate and in the control of such through the following of signs.

I don't believe in the stereotypes and believe if someone just comes out they shouldn't abide by them.
i.e. the high voice, the obsession with fashion and accessorizing, the ability to dance extremely well, the obligation to be an unpopular girl's amazing date to dances, the uncontrollable fear and ignorance when it comes to sports, etc.
P.S. I don't like Apple's socks and don't plan on getting any. However, I am in the process of getting all five iPod mini colors just because.

I don't believe being gay or straight is either choice or genetic, because both reasons are too far-fetched to even consider.

I believe that there is someone out there for everyone. More than one person in the cases of some people. If that somebody to love just happens to be of the same gender as you, congratulations.
IMHO, the world is full of really hot guys. They're all too hot to even be, let alone straight or gay. If you ask me, they are all part of a really cruel practical joke played on me year-round. They're always all hot and all unavailable. As for iBooks, oh yeah, they're gay.

BTW, gay, single, 20, 6' 4", Hispanic, brown eyes and hair, 195lbs. and well-endowed enough. PM me if you're interested.

(Great, I just had to turn this thread into a personals ad.)

Wow, quite an interesting thread.

Well, I'd have to say that quite a few people have assumed I'm gay, or at least hint at it. Possibly it's because of events like this (btw, I'm the guy with the bra), or that I'm on the water polo/swim team, or that most of my friends are girls, or that I do have iPod socks :)D ). But seriously, I'm not. Really! But the community here is accepting either way (just like there aren't any racial slurs or anything like that), which is refreshing.

I think it's a common misconception (or should I stay stereotype) that gay guys like dressing up as women because of the prominance of drag queens. But I think I remember reading a report that said the majority of male to female transsexuals are attracted to women.

Sometimes I wish I were gay, then at least I would have some fashion sense! :D

Yeah, it is, but I didn't mean to stereotype anyone at all. Sorry if I did offend anyone .

Yes I am!
Gender and sexuality are two different concepts. One can be transgender, and then be gay, straight or bi. Gender is non sexual, it deals with personal expression, the other with sexual orientation with another.

wow, well this is certainly not the way i thought that this thread would turn out, but im glad that it has worked, and it has been good for some laughs so far

I was honestly wondering why a thread like this hadn't come up yet, and I had actually considered posting something similar, but thought, hey, this is a Mac board, get real.

I'm glad the poster started the thread. I think most of the gay folks ooon the board already spotted most of the other "family" on the board, but it's interesting to see who else is among us.

I'm also glad it is a lighthearted discussion.

I suppose those who may be offended have been kind enough just to stay out of the thread, which is good form.

Are there any heterosexuals on MacRumors?

I am, not that there's anything wrong with that.

And for the record, I use a sweaty, smelly, sweat sock to protect my iPod.
