Wow really?
You didnt bother reading anything?
Yes, we should be really thanking Apple for their defective batteries and then putting out iOS updates that throttle our phones so they dont shut down because of their faulty batteries? This way they dont have to replace the bad batteries for free and we get to give up on our old iphones and keep buying the new one each year. We should just keep handing them our money and let them take advantage of us like that.
Poor Apple huh?

Yes, keep up the great work trying to deny everything and obstruct the truth.
Apple might hire you as a PR manager or lawyer :D
You guys are too funny :D

I did read the article and I didn't see the word 'defective' or 'faulty' used once.

Aww your iPhone slows down by a tiny amount when you open flappy birds... boohoo...

AAPL just hit an all-time high, and it's climbing. I'm not sure anyone cares about this news outside of Reddit and tech forums.

It's not just the fact that they did this intentionally, it's that they didn't bother telling consumers. That's shady. They know it'll increase sales so it's another "Let's recall just a few to look like we're doing the right thing!" then proceed to sweep everything else under the rug.

In store I was told that first series Apple watches had no recall but I called Apple, there was. A year and a half later, I got a replacement.

Coincidence? Perhaps. More likely a push to sales as of course they "Kindly" said that fixing it would cost money and "Wouldn't it be better to get a newer one with more features?". Right.

How about no.

Apple didn't get as rich as they did without some shady choices. All big companies are like this. So I make no excuses for any of them when they get caught red handed.

This proves planned obsolescence exists. Some iPhone 7 models have been slowed down on iOS 11.

Bull. The culprit is a bad battery, which can be easily replaced for $79. How can you have planned obsolescence when a simple repair fixes two issues (bad battery and reduced performance)?

True planned obsolescence would require purchase of a brand new device because your current device is no longer usable (or repairable).

My iPhone 6 took a noticeable hit to the speed of just about everything when I upgraded to iOS 11. It's infuriatingly slow now.

Every iPhone period took a hit when iOS 11 came around. It could be because they slowed down all the phones or it could be because iOS 11 is a stinker. Believe whichever you want.

what? No it doesn't. An attempt to maintain stability due to degrading batteries would be the opposite. Until battery technology improves, this is a thing unfortunately.

So to be clear, an attempt to slow down the iphone solely to make new iphones attractive is NOT what this article is saying.
-d

No, but it does make a new device look even that much more attractive.
If they are slowing things down, Apple should be communicating that to users in some fashion.
The "Hey! We are crippling your device in order to adjust to changing battery conditions... and we are not saying word one to you :D." is deceptive and seriously underhanded.

I think you need to look up he definition of proves.
A section of the iPhone 6s were slowed down on iOS 10.2.1. A section of the iPhone 7 were slowed down on iOS 11.2. Why is this happening every year? If it's a bad battery why doesn't Apple display a message that the CPU is being throttled thanks to battery. The fact they slowed it down on iOS 11.2 shows they are doing it intentionally every year.

when you slow a users device without telling them that it is being slowed due to a bad battery

A simple pop up stating that " device speed is degraded due to poor battery capacity, replace battery to restore full device potential" or something like that. They provided a pop up warning about 32 bit apps going away, so it can be done.

Why is this so hard for you to comprehend? Are you just typing without thinking?

If this was not discovered 99 percent of customers would not know it is the battery causing their phones to move sluggish and lag. Hence, they upgrade to a newer iPhone.

Now if Apple made customers aware, then sure that wouldn't be planned obsolescence.

Ask any iPhone owner you know that's not a techy (which is majority of iPhone owners) what would they think is causing their iPhone to move slow or sluggish. I can bet majority would not say because their battery has degraded.

Do you understand or you need further explanation? Or do you have a next excuse?

Your issue is highlighted in red.
If you have a negavitve experience with a vendor then you need to stop bring part of:
We
Our
Us

and stop doing this:
keep buying the new one each year

If you continue buying a product which is not living up to expectations then your wounds are self inflicted.

I will not obviously keep getting ripped off.
If you want to continue get taken advantage of then go for it.
I always knew there was something funny going on with iphones turning very very slow with each iPhone iOS upgrade. At least now we have proof.
Why would I or anyone keep giving money to a company that screws them over like that?

iOS 10.2.1 is likely the introduction point.
There is just no excuses. Apple has intentionally slowed down devices. It’s black and white
