I just don't see any weight to this argument - at least not more than confirmation bias. And Beats? Any Wireless Beats (that aren't refurbished or old) are all more expensive than AirPods. People who spend $299 on a pair of Beats don't see AirPods as expensive. And there's already an explosion of accessories to customize how you wear AirPods:

Even getting one of each of those with a pair of AirPods would be less than some other wireless earbuds on the market.

Okay, I'll simplify it for you. Most iPhone buyers will not buy airpods, they will use the headphones that come with the phone. If they don't use these most people will choose something else other than airpods, because they are more familiar with the design. Just look around you. This isn't my opinion, this is what is actually happening.

Which version of the watch did you get? I haven’t seen the new ones that cheap unless it was used like on eBay.
Macy's had the series 1 38mm on sale for $199 during mother's and father's day. I have a small wrist so the 38mm is wonderful. I even sleep with it.

That’s actually a great price! I sold mine, but if I could get a series 1 or series 2 cheap I would def get another one. If the price was right.

Guys I take it all back. I've finally seen a pair of them in the wild here in London, and they don't look dreadful. They look ****ing dreadful! Utterly ridiculous piece of hardware. Technically they may work well, but they way they look ....

Guys

Serious Question here to everyone claiming they're "ugly".

Do you sit around on the bus mocking people for wearing things you find ugly? we're literally talking about headphones here, that look like their predesecors without wires.

I get if you think they're not good looking, not buying them for yourself. But I see a lot of people here trying to say they're ugly, so they're a failure, or that they should be a failure for how ugly they are.

Completely disregarding that "ugly" is not objectively true. it's subjective and your ability to find something as ugly doesn't automatically mean you have the right to judge others for it.

damn, we as a culture are getting way too damn opinionated. not every opinion is equal. If you find something ugly, keep it to yourself. Because if you're someone who finds themselves sitting on a train/bus/plane and you sit there judging other's on their clothing / looks. The problem is you. Not them, and your opinions aren't worth the ground you walk on

Not generally, unless something is really bad. With the case of AirPods it goes much deeper than that. Apple created a solution to a problem that didn't exist and the solution just looks stupid. Every techie with an ounce of creditability cringed when they saw them, certainly here in the UK. I think it's a mixture of them looking bad and complete and utter distain for the Apple design team for introducing this junk in the first place.

While you're right on that, people usually talk about their subjective taste. If I say AirPods are ugly I obviously mean they don't look good for my personal taste. I'm not judging other people, and I may wear a pair of those in the future since I value technology more than aesthetic.
I really love using my iPhone but I find it quite ugly and that's one of the reasons why I put it on a case. My Apple Watch doesn't look good compared to my old watch, but I don't really care.

Right now the AirPods usability beats design. And there is no big problem with the design. The stems could be shorter but we would loose alot of battery and get way worse connection probably.

It is impossible to design a product that fits everyone's ears and taste. The biggest change they could do would be to leave some space in the AirPods case so people could get some silicon tips that fits their ears and keep them on the AirPods inside the case.

Wow, that's crazy, I can't see that happening, but who knows, I've been wrong before :)
Well consider that the watch works only with Apple hardware, while Airpods can be used by anyone opening a large market, consider also that Not everyone wants / needs / use a watch while more people listen to music, that at 159$ cheaper it is easier to gift them / justify the expense, then this prediction seems a lot more natural.

I too see Airpods overselling the watches, and earning Apple more money in the long run.

Doesn't it get annoying though to have to take those on and off, every time you take the airpods in and out of the charger?

No bc the solution outways the fact without them they don't fit.

It isn't the hook or that they fall out. They're painful to the 'flap' of my ear. They're just too big for me.
They work fine for me. Solved my issue.
