He's not when it comes to spirit. I'm sure he leans on them for support when needed but so did Geohot. Spirit is his baby.
Yeah I read your idiotic post. A lot of bitching about something your not willing to do yourself. They haven't even said if they have a working exploit for a jailbreak. They don't need to with spirit coming out, they are focusing on the unlock ATM. Your bitching up the wrong tree.
I sympathize/understand(don't agree though...oops!) with your frustration and you certainly have the "right" to complain if you want (maybe just don't expect people to be amused by it
). I think maybe just realize that we all want it just as bad as you do. I've been using a 7 year old nokia for the last week This is not a slam, so don't read it that way btw.
I will say this for extensive experience of doing free work that I should never have done photographically. When you are doing something for free, you never tell the "client" when it's going to be done. Why? Because it's free and other stuff comes up and you don't want to look like a tool for being LATE on something you are doing for FREE. It just adds another layer of expectation that should never be there if you are doing something out of the kindness of your heart.
Believe me, I want a date too - maybe just as bad as you. I want to know what to expect, but these guys aren't getting paid and presumably have other lives that they have to maintain - they are preserving themselves and I can't, even remotely, complain about that.
Free work sucks - I don't do ANYTHING for free anymore in my professional carrer because it always ends badly. I very much sympathize with these guys, but on that same coin very anxiously await NEWS and a RELEASE.
Again, I'm not slamming you here nor am I opening arguing/disagreeing/'calling you out' on this - I think everyone understands your frustration, but maybe just chill out and patiently wait

I agree with you.. that's why IMO a jailbreak should not be free.. then they would dedicate more time to getting it done because they are making $$ off of it. I mean is a round about time table so hard to announce. They know when they are going to release it.. it would be nice if they used their twitter more often..
I don't. I think it's ridiculous to buy a phone that requires free, time consuming work from virtual strangers in order to use it the way you want to use it, and then complain like a petulant child because those same strangers (who have lives of their own) won't deliver it when you want them to. Being frustrated over the free, voluntary work of others is about as immature as a person can be.
It's all their decision - I think there would be some ramifications for charging that we aren't aware of as well as a whole new set of expectations. Can you imagine how many people would complain if it weren't for free and people messed it up on their own... I can see it now "Dammit, Musclenerd!!!11! You f!@#ing owe me man!! I paid for this SH#T!!!"

Please read the rest of what I wrote - I'm trying to be civil here w/ him because the rest of you bashing him is certainly isn't helping the situation. If he's going to throw a fit, he's obviously wrong and I strongly suspect that he won't gain any support or friends here - but this is the internet, right?!
He does have the right to complain if he wants, like I said - I don't agree with him but at least understand his frustration, whether I think it's justified or not.

You guys are correct.. it is immature and ******** to complain when someone is doing you a free favor. I totally understand that. I would have to say my main frustration is not keeping us up to date. Do they owe us that... no. It only takes 1-2 min to post an update on twitter, I do think that's not such a huge request.
The problem is that you spoke for the rest of us, saying that we all understand (or sympathize or even comprehend) his frustration. I do not. That sort of entitlement is beyond my comprehension, and I object to your putting words in my mouth and suggesting that I can relate to him in any way.

Im also tired of waiting for the dev-team... but what can you do.. just bitch because there's nothing personally I can do to get my phone jailbroke. It would at least be nice for the dev team to release an around about date.. like a week, a month, etc.. instead of keeping quiet on their high horse. I don't care if its pretty or easy to install. I also don't care about people that didn't get their ip4s yet.. they can wait for a new jb release in the future.
