$450 for my iPhone X and Apple will take it for $525. Both are laughable, but I guess I am the sucker since I bought this phone a little over three months ago at full pop. Starting to really not appreciate buying iPhones any longer.
It's not just phones. Try checking the price of a brand new car you just drove off the lot. 10 bucks says you wont get what you just paid for it

I'm talking to some locals on letgo and offerup selling their iPhone SE devices below $80, seeing which one will give me the best price, can you beat that price with your 6? Thx.

Nope. I'd be looking at about $170 for this unlocked pristine phone. Basically going with Gazelle prices.

As for the prices, they could offer something a little more. I know how it goes though, buy cheap and turn around and sell high, so I guess I'm not shocked. Hell, Apple offered me $25 for my perfectly working Apple Watch Stainless Steel Series 0 which is absurd. Why not just slap me in the face while you are at it?

Its dead technology. Series 0 wont even support the new OS, why would anyone want to buy it. Sure it might still work, but so does my VCR

I wouldn't say that. WatchOS 4 is still viable and still functions just as capable as WatchOS 5. The watch still functions as intended as none of the functions have been deprecated which means its more attractive and capable than a $100 Fossil. The VCR analogy doesn't quite fit this scenario either. This product is a few years old while the VCR is decades old.

I'll agree that the VCR comparison might have been an extreme, but technology is developing at an insane rate compared to when vcr's were the way to go. just look at last years phone to this years. the processing power is just insane compared to even 1 year ago.

The series 0 was practically a test device. Expecting a huge payback so someone can buy old technology is asking a bit much. especially since you could usually get the previous years model for 100 dollars cheaper depending on sales/time of year

Just did a check on a 2017 13" MacBook Pro w/TB. They don't even list specs. So they would give you the same quote price on a base model and a fully spec'd out one.

For shizz and giggles, it quoted me $800 for my 17' MBP w TB 512GB lol.

So I think the disconnect here is that you are making an assumption that I want a "huge payback". Let me make this a little easier for you. If you go to Apple's website and look at the refurbished watches, you will see them selling Series 1 for close to $200 and that's aluminum. Is it unreasonable to want $125-$150 for a stainless steel series 0? I don't think so using Apple's own website as a guide.

Not bad .. Just to see the difference $140 vs $195 with Boomerangbuyback

Competitive..

$450 for my unlocked 64GB X. What a complete joke - especially when I can sell it on Swappa and easily get $700 for it.

No thanks.

I'm gonna keep handing older phones down to kids around here who don't have smartphones or WiFi-only entertainment servers. Pay it forward... let someone else try to make the last buck off the plastic and metal. But, now I'll give them the MR thread link when I hand off the devices. :D

The offers the site made to me for the devices were insultingly low, much like Apples offers were. I don’t appreciate having my time wasted by it being reported on as though it were otherwise. If you can’t do better than the value of having a spare, you are missing the point. The fact is, Craigslist set’s the standard for what the market will bear for used mobile devices, not vendors or sites like this that try to capitalize on consumers that don’t know better. Sorry to see you all are a part of it.

While i do agree these prices are a little lower than others are offering online, i dont get why people get so upset. If your device is a year old or more (really 6 months) then value on the open market tanks.

Everyone wants the latest a greatest. I live in Atlanta (which is a tough market), you would be lucky to get $650 for an iphone X 256 (unlocked) here.

People are trying to post them (iphone x 256 unlocked) on craigslist for $800 and they are sitting there for WEEKS on end.

Then people mention ebay, which takes 15% for fees then holds your money for weeks on end.

Its called “intrinsic value” something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Good luck everyone.
