I would suggest you to go for Samsung S8+ this is the best flag ship phone now.
Its Having marvelous display.

As an Apple fan for quite some years now, I have never expected to be so attracted to a product of a company which failed so spectacularly with its last flagship phone.

But here it is - I currently have a 6s but more and more I feel the need of a bigger screen, as often I am on the go and I have to work from my phone. That's where the S8+ form factor looks incredibly attractive and the display is absolutely gorgeous (quite important for me). The iPhone 7+ looks like a surfboard in comparison...

What holds me for now is that I have invested heavily in the Apple ecosystem (Apple Watch and Macbook owner), but also Samsung's update uncertainty and android privacy concerns . But having been more or less disappointed with Apple's products in the past year I am wondering if its worth waiting to see what they offer.

What are your thoughts about it guys? Anyone else feel tempted for the S8+?

The Galaxy S8 recently launched last friday to consumers. Check it out at your local carrier store or best buy. Check out the screen as Samsung will be providing the same OLED Panel to Apple for this year's iPhone. The best way to get a small glimpse of what Apple has in store is with iOS 11. There are always some small software hints hidden within the OS itself or features that look to be tailored to a iPhone 8.

Samsung never provide their top class panel to other companies.

I am sure Iphone X will get a decent OLED Panel, just not the same level as S8/S8 plus. (I will be happy if Samsung willing to sell Note 4 Panel to Apple, which is still better then the one on Pixel Phone. )

Do you think it'll be a visible difference though especially on such a small screen? It's like the 4k phone screens, I never saw the point.

I think not just about resolution but also other qualities. I think OLED is also graded based on manufacturing quality (e.g sub-pixels quality/defect or the uniformity of the sub-pixel spread etc). I bet Samsung will keep the top-grade for their internal use and sell the lower grade ones.

I don't know what Samsung does, but Apple doesn't accept sub-par components.

That depends on Samsung not Apple. So far taking into account all flagships, Apple will be the first company ever to get Samsung's real flagship OLEDs if they succeed

That is if you have negotiating advantage. Right now, apple doesnt since it has to bend over to buy from its arch-rival.

Apple will not accept sub-par components from any manufacturer, you should know that.

That is if they have a choice. No one can make enough OLEDs for Apple except Samsung.

I am not saying they will get subpar displays. The displays on the Pixel and the like are still better than the current iPhone LCD displays and very high quality. Just not the eye candy top end displays like on the S8

No offense but I honestly just don't get this sentiment.

Don't get me wrong, its a nice looking phone, and a cool example of what's possible design wise. I can totally understand the tech envy.

What I don't get is how someone who is as tied up in the Apple ecosystem as you are is actually considering switching just because of this one phone, which Apple is bound to outdo in less than 6 months anyway.

No matter how great of a device it may be you'd basically be turning your Apple Watch into an oversized "dumb" watch, and giving up a ton of integration with your Mac. And that's BEFORE you remember that, as you said, with Android you get BS like having to roll the dice with phone upgradability and pray that your manufacturer/carrier is "benevolent enough" to "provide" you with updates that should "just work" on your phone.

There are (I assume) lots of great reasons to prefer or want an android device, but sheer tech lust should not be the driving factor in your decision (IMHO).

That doesn't mean anything that is, If Samsung wants apples continuing business.

Samsung is not so stupid to think that apple will give business to them at first choice. We read all the time that Apple hunt around (or invest in others) first for supplies and only as a last resort they go to Samsung. Who in the right mind would not be wary of such customer like apple? Not to mention the bad blood when apple sued the hell out samsung (and then unashamedly copied ideas - like curved OLED screen/wireless charging/water proofing)

Why? In order to free yourself from "jail" (and paying overpriced products). Of course, it is much harder to do if you live in the US as there are more than half the phone users in "jail" with you. So easier to be buddy buddy with your jail mates when you are inside the jail (well..you only have your jail mates with you and cut off from outside world :p ).

If you live in other countries, kicking aside iphone is quite hassle free since most are not tied in to the apple eco-system like icloud/im/ft/mac os.

Still doesn't mean anything about the part number being supplied. And you think waterproofing is being copied? Like copying a wifi chip or a button? Such hyperbole. Besides it's Samsung copying sharp on their display design.

Better is subjective and you don't know the part number of any part any supplier is selling to Samsung. Except maybe the cellular modems on the i7.

Except the OP seems to like "being in jail," as he's already got an Apple Watch and a MacBook to go with his iPhone, so perhaps staying there is the better decision for him :p

I get the value argument for mid range android phones. They offer a lot of phone for your money (hell I got my dad one since he's not interested in Apple)

But calling Apple products "overpriced" when the Samsung Galaxy S8 starts at around $839 (in the US) seems a bit rich to me.

Furthermore, if you're willing to shop around during the holidays, you can get a last gen iPhone for dirt cheap (I got a 6S for my mom for like $200) that will still kick the crap out of most Android phones performance wise.

While I get the feeling you're being sarcastic, If you really see Apple and their products as "being in jail" why do you post on this forum (genuinely curious, not trying to flame you)

If you so sensitive about the contextual meaning...then would "followed" be more to your liking :p
So when samsung "followed" apple in using rectangular shape, were you one of those who went on a war-cry? :)

Let's not cast stones here :)but be honest about this "copying thing" which is beating the proverbial dead horse here on macrumors.

Yeah, it's friday where I am, so maybe a bit of light-hearted scarcasm.

well I bet when iphone 8 is first launched, the 128/266 gb version will be 30% more than S8+ at launch. Even now the higher storage version of 7+ is more expensive. Don't forget samsung bundles more/better assessories at that price like wireless pad/vr/watch (depending on markets). And don't get me started on the more expensive components of S8 itself (like more RAM/OLED/built)

And, what about macbook hardware spec to price ratio? Funny thing many buy macbook to run windows on it.
Ipad? Alternatives are much cheaper.

What I do know is that no phone apart from Galaxies have been winning Displaymate awards for years.

Galaxy S7 Edge is the only OLED Android phone at the top. The rest OLED Androids are at the bottom and they all use Samsung OLEDs

Putting this aside, common sense said it is very difficult to put your customer interest first when you customer is fiercely competing with you. Of course, samsung would hold back something so iphone would not usurp its S8 and esp the Note 8 when its launch coincided with Iphone 8/7s/or whatever.

My gut feeling on this is that the iPhone 8 is gonna have the same panel the S8 has while Samsung counters with the Note 8 in time. Only Samsung phones will get the cutting edge screen tech first

maybe OLED panel, but knowing apple they may only get the lower cost 1080p panels. Look at how archaic the iphone 7 resolution is now. Apple will make a big fuss that smaller non-plus phone now will get the "revolutionary" 1080p

I'm going to wait for the iPhone 8. The S8+ looks amazing but I know even now that I prefer the iPhone as my daily driver. I already have an Apple Watch, iPad, mac, 2 Apple TVs and airpods. I don't want to change any of these devices for android equivalents. I thought about getting the S8+ and using it as a secondary device but I tried that last year with the S7 edge. It was a great phone but I just didn't really have a need for it as i just used my 6S+ all the time. I ended up selling the S7 edge after a few weeks. Deep down as great as the S8+ is I know it will suffer the same fate as the S7 edge did last year which is why I won't buy it.

Most likely true. In which case just hold onto my 7+ until I can get hold of the iPhone 8.

I realize I likely won't have the opportunity to pre-order on day one if I'm working. Which means, I will likely be pushed way back to receive my new iPhone, which who knows how long that will take. But fortunately I'm content with my 7+.
