But we do know that no one can manufacture OLEDs on the same scale as Samsung which is why even Google had to deal with their old enemy on this.Notice the words "is likely", meaning that no matter how much spin is out in this nobody really knows. Hopefully pink screen is in the past, if any of these rumors are true.
LCD gets demolished in all other metrics hence it's losing. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. All iPhones to use OLED by next yearLosing is losing. As I said it doesn't change the premise "old tech" beating "supposedly new tech".
I wonder what will happen if the iPad sales continue their free fall while Surface keeps going upiPad sales demolish surface sales
Faster as the benchmarks have already proved iOS 9 is faster than iOS 8.
But nobody really knows what components Apple is sourcing from who. Speculation doesn't change that. But we do know that no one can manufacture OLEDs on the same scale as Samsung which is why even Google had to deal with their old enemy on this.
Quite an embarrassment from a company that supposedly knows how to manufacture these components. Yellow tint can be adjusted in iOS 10, but it is not something like burn in which is germane to oled.Pink screen is going to be fixed in a software update unlike the yellow tint
Except where it doesn't.LCD gets demolished in all other metrics hence it's losing. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. All iPhones to use OLED by next year
Except where LCD beats oled.750P LCD vs 1600P OLED? No contest
iPad sales are falling slower than surface sales are creeping up.I wonder what will happen if the iPad sales continue their free fall while Surface keeps going up
Seems less ken only on your iPhone 6.I didn't know 3 seconds to open settings and tab tab reloads were the norm on iosn8 for iPhone 6
Sample size of one is usually called anecdotal. Benchmarks have shown ios 9 to be faster than iOS 8.Until my 7 Plus proves otherwise my 6 so far shows that the latest updates for an iOS device are designed for you to get the newest color on the latest iPhone
No speculation as Samsung is the only company capable of supplying that many OLEDs. Its like saying the next Macs using Intel processors is speculation and AMD is also possibleBut nobody really knows what components Apple is sourcing from who. Speculation doesn't change that.
When you manufacture on the scale that Samsung does production and software issues do happen just like bendgate and Touch Disease. The latter especially. I would rather have a pink screen than have the phone drop dead.Quite an embarrassment from a company that supposedly knows how to manufacture these components.
Cant be adjusted because the intensity of the yellow tint is different at different areas of the screen. If the screen was uniformly yellow no one would be complaining. Burn in is as much of an issue as yellow tint on LCD because phones using both screens are breaking records as you say so "anecdotal"Yellow tint can be adjusted in iOS 10, but it is not something like burn in which is germane to oled.
Displaymate has awarded the best display on the planet award to Galaxies. I think those professionals know more than youExcept where it doesn't.
Except where LCD beats oled.
All the speed tests I have seen have the iPhone taking 3 seconds on settingsSeems less ken only on your iPhone 6.
So all those blog posts and complains are a sample size of 1?Sample size of one is usually called anecdotal. Benchmarks have shown ios 9 to be faster than iOS 8.
Basically since there are no facts, stuff was just made up.No speculation as Samsung is the only company capable of supplying that many OLEDs. Its like saying the next Macs using Intel processors is speculation and AMD is also possible
Let's hope this part number is not used in the alleged iphone 8. At least with bendgate and touch disease you had to actually use the phones first. When you manufacture on the scale that Samsung does production and software issues do happen just like bendgate and Touch Disease. The latter especially. I would rather have a pink screen than have the phone drop dead.
You can sure as heck adjust it, however, pink screen seems to be on the rise and Samsung is saying it isn't problem, http://bgr.com/2017/04/21/galaxy-s8-red-screen-issue/, even though people are upset about it. Pink screen is not "anecdotal" as you say.Cant be adjusted because the intensity of the yellow tint is different at different areas of the screen. If the screen was uniformly yellow no one would be complaining. Burn in is as much of an issue as yellow tint on LCD because phones using both screens are breaking records as you say so "anecdotal"
But I buy what's best and I bought the iphone 7 because it has the best screen to me. Those "professionals" have their "opinion", I have my opinion.Displaymate has awarded the best display on the planet award to Galaxies. I think those professionals know more than you
Which makes it anecdotal. All the speed tests I have seen have the iPhone taking 3 seconds on settings
Yep. Benchmark tests proved that ios 9 is faster than ios 8. 10 blog posts are still 10 individual anecdotal experiences. So all those blog posts and complains are a sample size of 1?
Does it? I thought Samsung's OLED screens were the kings of colour accuracy and had been for years? Both are great screens. But I prefer more accurate colors which the IP7+ gives.
So saying the next Mac will have Intel processors is making stuff up?Basically since there are no facts, stuff was just made up.
Samsung is making more OLED panels than for their own phones for Apple. It's a given there's going to be issues on that display too. However if it's value for money I am getting it day 1. Pink does not affect me and many other customers as we are used to exchanging iPhones coz of yellow tint. Even with pink tint OLED still beats LCD and I can assure you a burn in affected pink tinted iPhone Edition will still destroy the 7S in salesLet's hope this part number is not used in the alleged iphone 8. At least with bendgate and touch disease you had to actually use the phones first.
You can't adjust the tint as one part of the screen is yellower than the otherYou can sure as heck adjust it, however, pink screen seems to be on the rise and Samsung is saying it isn't problem, http://bgr.com/2017/04/21/galaxy-s8-red-screen-issue/, even though people are upset about it. Pink screen is not "anecdotal" as you say.
Their analysis is based on facts. Yours is an opinionBut I buy what's best and I bought the iphone 7 because it has the best screen to me. Those "professionals" have their "opinion", I have my opinion.
A fresh iOS install on an iPhone 6 on both my phone and in the video taking 3 seconds to open settings is anecdotal?Which makes it anecdotal.
What about the experience? AMD Fury showed higher frames than a GTX 980ti on many games but the amount of juddering on it was so high it beat the 980ti only on paper[/quote]Yep. Benchmark tests proved that ios 9 is faster than ios 8. 10 blog posts are still 10 individual anecdotal experiences.
I would rather have "touch disease" than an exploding battery as well. One will get replaced and the other will kill you.So saying the next Mac will have Intel processors is making stuff up?{/QUOTE]
Mac is another deflection in a long list of them, and has nothing to do with what is being discussed.
You have no idea of who is making components for who. It's great that pink screen or burn-in doesn't affect you, but burn-in is coming, you can read about it yourself on the internet. Not in my book does a pink screen beat LCD, but to each their own.Samsung is making more OLED panels than for their own phones for Apple. It's a given there's going to be issues on that display too. However if it's value for money I am getting it day 1. Pink does not affect me and many other customers as we are used to exchanging iPhones coz of yellow tint. Even with pink tint OLED still beats LCD and I can assure you a burn in affected pink tinted iPhone Edition will still destroy the 7S in sales
[QOUTE]I would rather get a pink tinted phone than Touch Disease because right now if my 6 died that's 300 bucks down the drain
It can be mitigated. You can't adjust the tint as one part of the screen is yellower than the other
Playing pink-screen lottery doesn't give one an air of confidence and could be hindering sales.Samsung never said it's not a problem. People are getting their phones exchange just like how iPhone customers are used to playing the display lottery
Wrong, you can't prove a statement that is subjective.Their analysis is based on facts. Yours is an opinion
Yes, it's anecdotal because it applies to you. It's not the case on my iphone 6, which is faster on ios 10 than ios 8.A fresh iOS install on an iPhone 6 on both my phone and in the video taking 3 seconds to open settings is anecdotal?
You're discussing IOS than switch to PC hardware? Isn't that a deflection? What about the experience? AMD Fury showed higher frames than a GTX 980ti on many games but the amount of juddering on it was so high it beat the 980ti only on paper
Speaking of batteries seems the Apple Watch batteries are swelling and popping out. Embarassing for one of the most expensive smartwatches out thereI would rather have "touch disease" than an exploding battery as well. One will get replaced and the other will kill you.
Are you for real? It cant be mitigated as the screen is unevenly white. Adjusting saturation wont make a difference as one part of the screen will be darker or lighter no matter what you do. Essetially your response is mirroring what Samsung is telling customers on how to deal with the pink tint except with AppleIt can be mitigated.
On the contrary it broke preorder records and according to Samsung is the best selling model everPlaying pink-screen lottery doesn't give one an air of confidence and could be hindering sales.
OLED has better efficiency, is thinner, infinite contrast, brighter, better viewing angles and the same color accuracy as an LCD if run on a color managed OS.Wrong, you can't prove a statement that is subjective.
If it only applies to me why is the internet full of such complaintsYes, it's anecdotal because it applies to you. It's not the case on my iphone 6, which is faster on ios 10 than ios 8
No its meant to prove raw numbers on paper dont match up to actual experience which as video evidence shows that iOS 9 was slower than iOS 8You're discussing IOS than switch to PC hardware? Isn't that a deflection?
Apple Did the right thing and warrantied the watches for 3 years. At least the watch isnt banned from aircraft.Speaking of batteries seems the Apple Watch batteries are swelling and popping out. Embarassing for one of the most expensive smartwatches out there
You know pot kettle thing. Pink tinit is an embarrassment for Samsung. Period. Are you for real? It cant be mitigated as the screen is unevenly white. Adjusting saturation wont make a difference as one part of the screen will be darker or lighter no matter what you do. Essetially your response is mirroring what Samsung is telling customers on how to deal with the pink tint except with Apple
SoOn the contrary it broke preorder records and according to Samsung is the best selling model ever
And burn in. Those burnins reported in Reddit are why I'll stick with LCD.OLED has better efficiency, is thinner, infinite contrast, brighter, better viewing angles and the same color accuracy as an LCD if run on a color managed OS.
Define full of as a percentage of the total population. Guess could be said the same for touchwiz lag and burn in.If it only applies to me why is the internet full of such complaints
iOS 9 by the benchmarks is faster than iOS 8, there is no getting around that.No its meant to prove raw numbers on paper dont match up to actual experience which as video evidence shows that iOS 9 was slower than iOS 8
