Okay, so we've seen tons of "I've got MMS working" posts in this thread (including one from myself) but has anyone been able to have it last longer than, say 6 hours? That seems to be the flaw with all this, it eventually stops working.

I suppose you could try, but then you run the risk of them changing your iPhone data plan which would render it pretty much useless.... It's like dealing with a double edged sword.. As much as it sucks, I'm just sucking it up until AT&T gets their act together.. I tried about 5 different tech reps last night all to no avail..

Yeah, I threw my sim into my mom's razr and made the call and they're were like you have an iphone. I told them I got rid of it and they replied with a no, you still have an iphone.

Yes, my MMS, Tethering, and VVoicemail has been working for already a couple of days....however, the article on http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ says that AT&T might be patching that hole up soon....

Aha, thanks for that. I should think that AT&T should let this workaround slide, unless their official carrier update for MMS and tethering is coming sooner than later.

Let it slide? You think businesses are considerate or something? :p

haha. I can actually see their point with this though. If I get my MMS working and show my friends, they're going to want to get theirs working. So let's assume I help them and get theirs working, but then one of them has a problem and calls AT&T support about it. I can see AT&T not wanting stuff like that to happen, so I see the business aspect of it.

Yea mine is still working. But i am scared to back my phone up just in case it stops working i will be able to restore it back to before i did all this carrier hacking and stuff. Unless there is a way to undo all of this? (Im on Windows btw)

Issue with Family Plan?

Ok, so I've done everything thats within this forum, I even followed the original "script" practically word for word and the answer I've gotten, from At&t business care is that because I have a family messaging plan it WILL NOT WORK. I would have to have a single messaging plan and even if I did, it would only allow me to receive the link not the picture.

Any body have any ideas? I'm open to suggestions :) and I appreciate the help.

Lawl I downloaded the wrong carrier file. See if I use the "hack" for the tethering, my MMS settings get the username and password erased therefor disabled until you add them in again. Once you do, the tethering option disappears. So at the moment I can only have either MMS or tethering, not both.

Before I go through the long process of downgrading iTunes and all that, does anyone know if I can replace my carrier file? If not I'll have to go back and forth between the two and it's just a minor annoyance. The settings do only take a few seconds to install/enter but I wonder how long it will be before AT&T will patch the tethering hack hole.

My guess is AT&T wised up to this and came up with a way to seal the gap. It was working great for 1 day then late today MMS stopped working.

It works AT&T! Open it up already!

Can someone help me?

AT&T tech support said that they would be HAPPY to change my setting from a linked picture to a direct picture HOWEVER the lady was not sure how to do it. She called Apple and got another tech to try to help buy they couldn't figure it out. She said if I could get someone else on the phone with an account that had been done, she would look how it was done and then do it to mine as well. She was very friendly and said she had no problem doing it even though she knows Apple isn't rolling out iPhone MMS till late summer.

Can someone please PM me ASAP and volunteer to talk to AT&T tech support to they can see your settings?

Mine's been working for 3 days now...MMS, VVM, and tethering.

Why is it when i put in my mms information then restart and try to tether the tethering menu just closes me out and dosent appear anymore?

Sorry if that ? has been asked before, but does that MMS thing work on the 3G? I could run a test before I receive my 3G S.

Same thing on mine. I really don't think VVM, tethering, & MMS hack can play together. Unless someone here can prove me wrong with good working hacks.

When you call AT&T, right away tell them to send you an MMS test text. Then if you get a link, complain to them about how you hate the link and want it disabled even at the cost of not knowing if you have an MMS sent at all. If they send you a test MMS and you don't get a link or anything at all. Leave it like that and hang up. That's what happend to me. The guy sent me a test and I didn't get them until the next morning.

Make sure that your upfront and tell them that you know that you won't have MMS until late summer but that you just DO NOT want a link sent.

Note: this worked for me on a 3G family plan. Idk about 3GS and a non family plan. Also, when you call 611, tell them to send you the test just to "see if your link thing is working", HOWEVER, you will need to be switched to tech support for anything in your account to b changed because 611 is mainly for billing.

Another note: call from another phone so that you can use your iPhone while calling. 611 on your phone = 1800-311-0500 on a phone that not your phone.

Ok well i got mine working by entering all the mms information restarting. If the tethering got wiped, i would just reload the carrier file restart and all the settings would be save except the user+pass would be blank but sending mms still works and so does tethering. Havent been able to get a mms yet, dont know if there getting link to me.

Im gonna try to call att tommorw put my sim in my 8525 and say dude i should be able to get mms!

Its still not happening with me.
I even put the sim card into an old razr and tried to send out a pic with that. It was unable to send it thru the motorolla also. I tried to resend a bunch of times and it wasnt going thru.

I finally got it working myself.. hadnt worked no matter what i tried... what i did:

Put my sim into my ATT tilt i have laying around... used it for a little... called ATT and had them change the IMEI number on my phone number to the tilt's... also changed the unlimited messaging to the normal one.. was able to finally send MMS's with the tilt... waited a little and put the sim back into my iphone and wala..
