you know that the above gender gap stat does not consider leave time (women take much more), benefits, type of job etc, right? For example,if you take the 20 most dangerous jobs, the man:women ratio is about 9:1. This affects the pay scale when you aggregate it in a lump as the above website does. You also have to include the overtime factor. Women do less overtime, which means 1) less pay 2) less promotions, which leads to lower pay.

When you start controlling the factors and remove the simple aggregation of everything, the gap basically nullifies.

actually it does compare like jobs to like jobs, and the “more leave time” thing is fake.

To be clear, what you are referring to is called the non-adjusted wage gap. The adjusted wage gap is 20 percent, though.

But a job title, its tasks, and its salary are not simple correlations. You have to consider the areas in which you're in, overtime, local market, cost of life factors, company cash flow, and so on. A guy doing my same job near Seattle will make at least 2x what I make in Texas, for example. So if a lady gets the job, should I scream "pay gap" because she makes 2x than I do? No, because if you consider cost of living, she probably makes about the same if not less, however if you measure salary as your website brutally does (brutally to a point, even they say that in reality the paygap is at most 2%, that is $0.98 on the $1). There are way too many factors to scream 20% pay gap as you did in the first post.

You also have to consider where this "pay gap" is. In some jobs it's much different than the others:

In the above (from NPR), the highest pay gap is in sales, that is revenue generated mostly by performance rather than salary. If you lump them together (as it is done) it gives the impression of unfair treatment while it's purely performance (or time spent on selling etc.).

and the “more leave time” thing is fake.

Fake? It's not fake. Now, there can be different reasons why (maternity for example), but it's not fake.

Now, the problem is that we don't have much research on what is happening behind the scenes.
The best study on the dynamics under the hood that are serious factor in earnings is Harvard's study on a very, very controlled environment (here:
https://scholar.harvard.edu/files/bolotnyy/files/be_gendergap.pdf
) where gender is virtually irrelevant.

bros for women:

the lady across the street is about my age and not religious, a good well educated person but dead set against abortion. go figure when most birth control is at best 5% effective. I am just saying if it were my body i would terminate any and all un planned pregnancy asap. It may take 7-10 weeks to "discover" pregantcy, so what, i would totally want it out of me, gone when ever. I would do a quick road trip to Canada.

The women dont really want equality?
The suffrange movement was very slow and multiple decades long. The ladies did not gain the right to vote till 1920. A bit slow to gain a basic right in the land of the free. At near the end it was not remarkable that the organized religion was dead set against it. Many states were starting to allow voiting if the lady owned proptery. Finally it became federal law.

gender & sex need to be considered with care, everyone is a snowflake:
if men were effectively prevented from owning guns the random mass shootings problemo would be 80% or better re solved.
