And metal dents. So have cracked plastic, broken glass, or dented metal. Take your pick.

I prefer glass. :)

I rather have dents than a cracked back plate. Cracking glass makes it look terrible. A dent is easy to live with. At least for me.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8F190 Safari/6533.18.5)

There should be an "other" voting option. I want metal.

Unless you do not use your iPhone 4 there is NO WAY it does not have even some small scratches on it. Just setting it down on a table can scratch it. I use my phone too much to baby and use a Sedio case to give it some protection. This gorilla glass is really not that resistant to scratches:p

should i take a picture for you?

why would i lie, i always make sure to put my keys in a different pocket, but pens, paperclips, etc are all in the same iphone pocket

i did forget to mention its in n apple bumper so putting it on a table is a non issue + probably why i never dropped it

best pictures i could find

Make it out the same plastic that my Glock Pistols are made of and it would be indestructible and not weight near as much at the same time.

I've had my naked iPhone 4 since launch date

100% scratch free

For those of us responsible enough not to drop our phones, its the ideal material, easy to clean, optically clear, and very scratch resistant

1. I'm quite responsible, thanks. Sometimes things happen. Sometimes you get bumped.

2. If yours is in a bumper it's not naked. But best of luck when it does fall in the bumper.

Agreed. Mine has been naked--meaning actually 100% naked--since Launch Day, and it's pristine.

I love the glass.

Disclaimer: I had my 3G and 3GS naked as well, with no ill-effects. I'm not crazy OCD, but I don't tend to drop my phone. I keep it in my jeans pocket or the side pocket of my purse and that's it.

Got a snap on case-mate case for my 3GS and I dropped my phone once on the concrete while sitting down. The case is shiny and slippery as hell and it just slid out of my lap. Dented the case on one corner. That's just the type of hit that would have shattered the back of an iPhone 4. I hate cases, but with the next iPhone, it will definitely get a bumper. Full coverage cases on the iPhone 4 look like ass, so just a bumper for me.

I prefer glass over plastic. The glass looks much better and it makes the design look sleek and sexy.

I really can't imagine Apple changing the back glass though. They are SO proud of it and changing it would be admitting it was a stupid idea in the first place. I can't see that happening. It would also, instantly, make all the iPhone 4s a target for jokes (more jokes actually), still having the glass back.

I think they'll stick with it this year and change the whole design next.

Apple probably won't change it, they got this whole 2 year plan going.

Oh iPhone 2g, you might have lacked 3G, but you were built like a rock.

They honestly need to get away from glass though. As a person who used to carry his phone naked, I learned the hard way last night that I should of had a case. I actually cut myself on cut glass from the screen (it was in my pocket, placed the hand in, SURPRISE!).

They could keep the current form, but have 1 antennae wrap around, and one inside to avoid all interference. That or make the screen bigger and stick the antennae back inside. Maybe create smaller better batteries.

Sigh I do hope that they will change it next model. Unlikely, but still - hey, instead of making the iphone 4 a joke they could, for example, make it completely the opposite!

Imagine this: iphone 4 is a limited edition model, all glass, a concept phone. There will be a cult following, all iphones 4 will become extremely expensive and impossible to obtain. Good for us, current owners of iphone 4 who just want a nice but durable phone :D

So many people are in favour of the glass! Those stories about shattered phones must not be very true then....;)

To the guy who posted those pix, I took a picture using the same camera just like yours and I did not see any scratches

Then put my phone under direct sunlight and under a lamp tilting it side ways and BAM little scratches were on the screen.

Phone scratches easily, and unless you are OCD, you won't see/care about them.

People on here say there dogs and cats walk on there phones and they have no scratches...Lol. Pigs can fly too.

There are micro scratches on the glass. If you examine the aluminosilicate screen very carefully there will be scratches although probably not noticeable under most conditions. Not a big deal IMO. Use a screen protector if you are OCD about it.

After having and enjoying the iPhone 4 for almost a year, there is no way I would want to go back to the plastic back. The double sided glass just looks so awesome. I've had the bumper and now an aluminum bumper for the life of the phone. Nothing protecting the front or the back, and the glass is still pristine. No scratches.

Agreed, there are no "scratches" on my screen. But under the correct light, there are little scratches. My phone had no case/screen protector for 8 months, kept in side pocket with no dirt/lint/keys/coins, not even tissues went into my phone pocket. I dont put my phone face down on anything and if it sits on a desk, it sits on something lightly padded. Still had little scratches on the screen.

I drop my iphone all the time so I cannot have glass. Since my phone goes in a case, it really does not matter what it looks like. I would rather have plastic. As long as the case looks good. I am good to go.

No case can even come close to the beauty of the naked phone. That's why Apple is using Gorilla Glass, so people can use the phone naked and not have to worry about scratches and cracks.
