Does anyone have any real life pics of this case? or a review? The first batch of preorders were shipped out nov 1st as it is listed on their site.

No reviews or complaints about the case could mean everyone is too happy and enjoying their case to get online and post a review? hehe

I am waiting for a good review before i pull the trigger.:)

This has got to be the slickest case I've seen. I'm interested in it, but wonder how accessible the volume buttons will be when they're recessed like that. I hate having to smash my finger inside a slot to press a dang button.

Ok tried this three times. first time. case off walked around the house and got a solid -86. With case on it's jumping around more mostly stays around -93 to -95 some times goes to -100 . Second time with case on i got -94 took the case off and it didn't change, after about 3 minutes it changed to -85 then -88 with case off. Put the case back on and have -95. I hope this can help I don't know what the numbers mean but it seems that with case on most of the time I get a -5 to -10 differance. it jumps around allot right now with case on it's jumping from -85 to -94.

thanks for that.. I believe -10 dB is equivalent to a bar of signal. So you're losing +/- 1 bar of signal with this case. Important to note if you live in an area with poor reception

I'm really disappointed with this case. Their claim to improved reception while gripping the phone is BS. At work I usually have 3 bars 3g. Today with this case on I could only get one bar, and sometimes searching for network. I thought at first the bad weather might be affecting the signal, but when I took the case off it immediately went to 3 bars. I also got my first dropped call today at work with this case on. Hopefully I can return it, I hate returning things though. I think I'll just go with an apple type bumper or maybe a sleeve.

I am loving the look of this case, tossing up between this and the graft leverage. I am worried about the lack of back protection though. The Leverage comes with the rear protector which is cool. I wish this case had the option of an aluminium full back that clicked in with the rest of the case.

So I got my case(es) on Monday and looks like there are more than a few people looking for feedback on it.

Initial Impressions: Before I get to that, be sure to read this whole post as my initial impressions aren't the same as my lasting impressions. That said when I first opened up the package I was a little dissapointed in the pieces, they seemed unpolished and what's the word, not high build quality. Seemed a little rough to be honest.

Then came the task of installing it, and trying to do so with ghost armor full body. I had a very difficult time getting the case via the attached instructions (also having watched the video). So I figured it must be the ghost armor, so I took off the body parts that went along the steel band, leaving the front and back protector on. I continued to struggle. Eventually I came to the conclusion that the instructions arent the best way to install it and you should actually start from the bottom and finish at the top, made things much easier.

Now the signal issue: So I work in a building that is HEAVILY shielded. I usually get 1 bar in my pocket, and 2-3 if I'm holding my phone. The first day with this case my signal dropped to zero in my pocket and 0-1 when holding it. Needless to say this was frustrating. I had a hard time sending text messages and my battery was just destroyed dying before I left work when I can usually have anywhere from 20-40% when leaving depending on usage.

During the course of that day, I became almost disheartened because I fell in love with the look and feel of the case throughout the day. Combined with the customizability of the pieces I thought I'd finally found a suitable case for what I wanted. A bumper style case that shows off the phone, incorporates Aluminum, adds minimal bulk, is flashy, and not ridiculously expensive.

The solution: After figuring out the trick to putting the case on I started to think, ya know, maybe the full body pieces will fit with the case, so I decided to reinstall them, this time SGP Ultra Matte Steel band coverings (only full body side pieces I had lying around). Once installed I put the case on no problem.

So did it work? Yes! At work I'm now getting one bar in pocket and 2-3 again when holding it. I'm sure there is still some effect on the signal, but doesnt seem to be much! I left work today with over 50% battery life! No more constant searching for signal.

So if you are considering this case, I'd definitely recommend some full body side pieces to be installed to keep the aluminum from touching the antenna band, for me, it worked!

Anyway, loving the case and thought I would share my impressions. Sorry if my punctuation or grammar sucked on this post, I typed it on my 4s, which is enough of a pain in the ass, so forget proofreading or fixing errors. lol

I have lucky labs spectra wrap and this case still kills reception for me . I don't see how sgp would help any more. I've come to the conclusion that aluminum, touching the antenna band or not will destroy reception. I'm Glad that the sgp sides worked for you. I'd try it but I've already wasted too much money on accessories. I'm just going to go naked with screen protectors I already have.

Honestly I wouldn't expect one brand or another to work any better. One thing about the SGP is that it goes all the way around the entire antenna band, including the top and bottom, where my ghost armor stopped at a certain point.

All I know is

Accidentally hit enter lol

All I know is when I put the wrap on it definitely helped and now I'm noticing almost no difference at all compared to what I was getting before putting it on.

Not a bad looking case but some photos of one that has been delivered would be helpful.
I'm interested in many of the aluminum cases but the fact that they hinder reception is a major drawback.
A skin over the antenna band may solve this but the success rates are mixed so I can't see committing to an aluminum bumper at this time.

Aside from the potential reception issue. I really want to see photos of this on a white iphone. Their model gallery only uses the black model.

Anyone can post pics? Really want to order, but on the fence.

With my own PICS! glidecase.com

First, let me say this is THE nicest minimal bumper out there. By minimal, I mean it's the closest thing to having a naked phone. The engineering is remarkable and it feels absolutely solid in my hand. The (4) aluminum pieces are very thin and assembly (and disassembly) is a cinch with my front and rear screen protector. The aluminum is no where near the same quality as the band around the iPhone but looks great nonetheless. The volume buttons and mute switch are easily accessible despite what the pictures look like.

However, reception is my issue. Typically I get 2-3 bars in my apartment and with the case on, it drops to no service. I've tried applying clear tape around the band before putting on the case and it still drops to no service. Perhaps using a proven skin will help? At any rate, I'm extremely disheartened as I love the look of the Glidecase. :(

I can't recommend this case to anyone with initial poor reception. Maybe an iPhone 4 Spectra Wrap from theluckylabs.com will do the trick? Technology Brat, how have you been making out thus far?

Beautiful photos! Thank you so much!!! Now to order or not to order....I can't be without reception, since my cell phone is my business...

I have another idea, taken from the element, use thin pieces of foam to line the sides of the bumper?

i think you answered your own question

I Agree

There is NO WAY a full alum band won't hinder reception....Esp GPS.

And this product is not on the market yet either.....I have so many cases Otterbox Incase etc etc, I'm not buying any more.

I finally got around to getting a laptop case that holds both My Air and My Pro ( at the same time) And the Magsafe adaptors...AND stuff.!

I have one do these on order. I think I'll cancel though. I don't want to weaken my signal

any updates?

I'm still looking to purchase this case, it looks simply amazing.

I have a set of SGP sides that came with my Ultra Crystal EX screen covers.

Have people been experiencing signal losses? I live in the capital of Ohio, and almost never have reception issues. 4-5 bars. My basement gets only one, and I'm afraid I'll be at no reception in my basement with this on.

And some real life pictures if you don't mind...

Wow Proto, that reception test is super helpful. I'm going to test & verify that the Energizer (rubbery) 1201 case definitely REDUCES RECEPTION big time. It IS a factor in some of these cases... interesting to note.
