Hey guys, just got this case today. Was really excited about it from the pics and video i saw of it. Got the silver one for my white iPhone 4S.

I opened it up and was really disappointed with it. It feel's cheap and has poor build quality, had scratches and marks on it. I am requesting refund from the seller.

Back to the drawing board for me.

Hi kapa1686 -

I apologize that you received a case with defects. When installed correctly, the case should feel very solid - like it's part of the phone. There also shouldn't be scratches or marks.

To make sure each case comes out great, we're adding 2 more inspection steps to our manufacturing process. Please let us know if there's anything more we can do for you by emailing us at support@glidecase.com - we would be glad to have the opportunity to replace your case with a flawless one. We want to keep improving and make sure that our customers are happy.

Thank you,
Paul

Finally got my case today. My first impression was no way was this worth $70! I got the 2 tone so it was more $. Sides seemed really thin and flimsy.

However once I got it on correctly, it did take a few attempts, I was throughly impressed. I have a power support skin front and back and I think that was the issue with the fit. I ended up removing the back skin and that solved the problem and now fits like a glove.

Absolutely no issue with reception. So far have the same amount of bars as I always had. I have AT&T. Oh forgot to add that I have clear Lucky Labs around the antenna. Maybe that helped reception?.

While I still think its a little pricey, I am loving it. It has lay on table protection and yet my phone looks naked just how I like it. I still would like to get skin for the back. Thinking if I could find a smaller one or trim a PS one so that it fits flush to the Glides frame instead of underneath, it would work.

FYI, I have the black 4 and got a black frame Glide with the silver sides. I am very happy.

I've been keeping my eye on this before I bought the iPhone 4s, and I'm still on the fence.

I'll wait for more reviews and then pull the trigger on it.

One quick question...

Will this work with the Slick Wrap stainless steel wrap?

Thanks for the input on reception. I agree that its a bit pricey.....

Are you referring to the back wrap? Then yes, if you apply it after!!! I had a Slick Wrap carbon on the back of mine and PS HD on front and Lucky Labs clear on the sides. When I first tried to apply, couldn't get a snug fit and PS would bubble in the corners. So I took off the back Slick wrap and it went on like a dream. PS does not bubble or lift and the side Lucky Labs may be what is giving me good reception.

I really wanted my Slick Wrap on so I applied it after the Glide and it fit fine. I just took my nail and pushed the edges flush with Glide's frame so it's not under the frame but flush, kwim?

And I have to add, after 20 some cases, I am thoroughly in love with this case. I love the feel, the love the quality, I love the minimalist look, I love that I still have my PS on front and SW carbon skin on the back.

Pricey, yes, but in my humble opinion, this case is the best I have had and it's a keeper. The deal breaker would have been reception and so far mine has been fine. I have not been in any buildings yet, just my home. Hopefully when I take it out and about, reception will still be good.

Can you post a pic?

I ordered the slick wrap stainless steel full body, I'll see how that works out.

Thanks!

Is is me or is there no style whatsoever to this case? Looks very plain to me.

COuldn't imagine paying more than a few dollars for that. $70 bucks....tell me they are kidding!

Got mine today. I really like the design of this case. I like that it does not add hardly anything to the phone (weight or bulk). I have trouble with the fact that it doesn't have a real finished / polished look. I don't mean it should be shiny - I mean the finish it does have is inconsistent. I have the silver - I'm not sure this would be an issue with some of the other colors (especially the black). But it definitely.. cheapens it.

I really like / want to like this case. It is hard to say it is worth the money though. I do hope this company keeps at it - it has great potential and I don't think it would take much to make this case really worth buying.

These are some pretty crappy pix, took on my iPad but it shows how the back Slick Wrap fits and shows how many bars I get. I did use it in buildings and still got full bars.

Yes, I think it's way too expensive for what you get but I love mine and I'm keeping it. To me it's worth the price for something you really love.

Sweet... thanks for sharing!

How safe do you feel with this?

And, do you use a screen protector?

I'm thinking about getting rid of my screen protector if I get the bumper. I figure that with the bumper + the skin I should be good. Not really afraid to scratch it, having seen scratch test vids online, that and the fact that NOTHING goes in the iPhone pocket. Aside from perhaps gum or a soft leather money clip.

How safe? Good question. Probably depends how far phone is dropped and onto what. The case fits really snug, no gapping, it's a tight solid fit. I think it will give good protection, maybe not like a rubber bumper but good enough.

I have a Power Support HD on front cause I like the anti glare no fingerprint that it gives. Plus added protection doesn't hurt either. The Glide fit fine with the screen protector, but as I said, I had to put the back Slick Wrap on after putting on the Glide so it's not under the frame just butts up to it. Caseless website has a video showing the drop protection it offers.

Because the frame has a slight edge lay on table design, if your phone took a belly dive, I think the case would offer good protection. I wouldn't be throwing it from a car doing 80 though. :D

why do people need style for a cell phone, its not a car. and $70 is for the color mix one, $50 is for a regular one which really seems to be the price for cases like this

Thanks for pointing this out. I kept saying $70 but, you're absolutely correct, it was the cost of the 2 tone. $50 for one color isn't bad at all considering the precision and quality of this case.

It is simple which is exactly why I like it, I like my phone naked yet protected and this case is the closest I have found that does that.

That iPhone Case is really amazing, it's nice. Its really nice to put case for iphone to avoid scratches and broken screen if it suddenly fall down.

Total aluminum kills reception - ask why element now sells a hybrid...

I concur. Had to send mine back. In an area with a strong signal, it's no big deal... But when you are hovering between 2-3 bars, I found that the case dropped my signal to 0-1 bars.

I believe they continue to experiment with other methods and insulating materials. It really is a great design though as it integrates beautifully with the inherent design of the phone, offering great bumper protection and allowing for a protective skin if one desires.

Ordered mine the other day, hopefully I don't have any reception issues. I kept reading mixed results in regards to any reception issues, so I'll cross my fingers.

IF I do happen to have reception issues, I'll add a layer of tape (or something) to keep the aluminum from having direct contact with antenna. Worth a shot I suppose.

I'll try to post pics and a review for anybody interested, since this is a pricey bumper.

I'll have to keep using this clunky Griffin case.

Where can you purchase this?

Here's a mini review in case anybody's interested.

This is my first iPhone and I've had it for one week. Before the iPhone I had the iPod touch (last year's version) and I loved how thin and light it felt on my hand. I wanted to protect it so I went with the Griffin Reveal Case, which was as close as being naked. It was a minimalist case that didn't add any noticeable weight nor bulk to the iPod, but still offered enough protection.

So when I got my iPhone, I wanted to get something that would be as true to the iPhone's design, size and weight. I went with the Griffin Reveal Case for the iPhone 4s, which was the thinnest and lightest case available.

But even then, that case offered noticeable weight and bulkiness, although it did feel good in the hand while adding protection. I hated the size and weight it added, but I felt safe with the case on... but I still wasn't happy.

Before I bought my iPhone I did some research and came across this case in Larry's video review. It appeared to be what I wanted, a minimalistic clean and light case. A case that would be almost invisible to the naked eye and on one's hand, while still adding protection.

I came here and read some of the comments regarding the case, specially the antenna issues... but I still gave it a shot.

The case feels lighter and thinner than what people are describing. I can't even feel I have a case on, and it has a very minimalist look (I got the plain black one).

The fit is ridiculously tight, i have a skin on it and like Lindalou described, it caused the corners to bubble up. I had a hard time putting the bumper on due to the skin. If you have a screen protector on, it will be a tight fit.... but that's a GOOD thing.

It offers both front and back lip protection, so you can lay it on any flat surface and you'll be good. I feel that it's strong enough to withstand a fall on a concrete floor, which is why having a tight fit is a good thing. I'd be surprised if the bumper comes apart on a fall, so it will definitely protect it if it falls, either on the edge or face down.

Again.... this thing is unbelievably light!!!

And now to the big question: "Does it hurt reception"

I know this will be a debated point, and people's results will vary... but in my brief experiences, I haven't seen any signal loss.

I MUST remind you that I've only had the iPhone for a week, and within that week I've only gone to work and home. I only used to get 1 solid bar at home (Sprint network Los Angeles) and full bars at work and in the street. And I'm getting the same with the bumper. I don't have any call quality deterioration (as of yet.... *crosses fingers*) and data speeds seem to be the same. So in other words, no noticeable changes in reception/data performance.

My two cents are.... BUY IT!!! def worth the money.

It appears to offer solid protection
It is extremely light and thin
Looks aesthetically pleasing
No noticeable antenna performance deterioration (so far)

All I have is an old Macbook so the picture quality will completely suck. Either way, the pics won't do the case justice.

Order it ASAP.

Do a field test and post the numbers so that we can see the hit from the case.

I would if I knew how to do that. Any pointers?

Oh.... it was hard for me to put the skin and the bumper on, does that mean I need to take them off?.... GRRR:mad::confused:

its hard to believe there's reception issues since the sides actually hover over and have no contact with the metal band. they do claim it does not interfere with reception......wonder if those with issues are at&t customers :p
