GM safe for non-developers?

Just did a full charge. Losing 1% battery every 30 minutes on standby. This is garbage.

Do I need to update to the GM or can I go straight from the latest beta to the official release Wednesday??? If so how? Thanks.

Either way is a restore, so unless there's something in the GM you want I'd just wait five days

Basically the benefit for waiting till the 12th is I can just do the update rather than restoring the device and waiting hours for everything to be restored from backup?

Yes - but iphone also gets the "open in background" feature which is huge.
