Are you sure you have the GM not one of the betas? Does the filename end in 9A334_Restore.ipsw or something else?
I am having issues with installing iOS5 GM on my iphone 3GS (non dev) I have itunes 10.5.0.113 (beta 7 I believe) installed on my windows 7 64 bit laptop. I have tried to restore my iphone to the iOS5 GM (restore not update) but it gets stuck near the beginning of the progress bar and does nothing. I get no error from Itunes either it is just in this perpeptual state of "restoring" it seems
the ISPW file i have is "iPhone2,1_5.0_9A334_Restore" anyone have any insight on this? I in somewhat of a time crunch or else I would search things myself.
I am restoring from a DFU restored 4.3.5 set up as a new phone. I also understand that this is pre-release and itunes is beta, but I'd like to continue.

for a 3GS? I don't think that is it this what I am currently restored to "iPhone2,1_4.3.5_8L1_Restore"

I installed it. Not a dev, don't know any developers, no access to a UDID. It has worked fine for me (iPhone 4 that has never been jailbroken). My phone restored back to the backup fine, I have all my data (game saves, password info on my ewallet app, bookmarks on my ibooks). Only found one app so far that isn't supported (or rather it is not supporting the banner ads or notification screen. Seeing as it is my task app of choice that's kind of a bummer. Especially since the developer long ago already stated he was doing a few more updates to get it to work nice and then he was abandoning it so it probably won't be updated to work well with notification screen ).
Actually, I did lose all my photos in my photo album (not the ones I took recently but the ones I was synching back on the phone). No biggy, they are in my computer and I just liked keeping them on the phone so I could show people my cats or places I've been (they were picked to be put on the phone). I don't know if maybe that has to do with icloud (I haven't set it up as I have mobileme and I want to migrate info and from what I've found since I'm not a developer I'll have to wait til they release icloud).

Has anyone tried the ultrasnow unlock on an Iphone 4 with baseband 1.59 ? My phone is iphone 4 32 Gb, baseband 1.59 currently on 4.3.3, unlocked.
Can anyone comment on if the ultrasnow unlock is still working? I am planning on using snowbreeze and do a restore if unlock would still work. I know the dev team hasn't said anything, but I just wanted to see if any posters had tried to do it.

GM doesn't need UDID so anyone can just install it as long as they know what they're doing and I just installed iOS 5 on my iPad 2 yesterday and it works like a charm! I just needed to download the latest iTunes beta and ipsw file for the correct device. Install the iTunes then click RESTORE with your device plugged in WHILE holding OPTION then pick the ipsw file you just downloaded and enjoy!

Can somebody either post or PM links to the GM and iTunes for the wifi iPad 2 that worked for them. I have yet to be able to get it done successfully.

To those who have updated to iOS 5 and have created an iCloud account: Are you having issues with iCloud mail pushing, mine isn't pushing, and there's a thread in the iCloud subforum with people having the same issue. Mail only syncs when then mail app is open.

Wondering if anyone can help me figure out Wi-Fi Sync. I installed the GM on my iPhone 4 last night using iTunes beta 9 and got everything going just fine. But when I go to iTunes Wi-Fi Sync in Settings the Sync Now button is disabled and it says "Sync will resume when <computer name> is available." I see this regardless of whether the iPhone is plugged into the charger or not. Of course, once I plug it into my computer it says it's available and starts to sync. Anyone have any idea what's going on?
Do we need Lion to install itunes 10.5 beta 7?

My bad, I was looking in the wrong spot. It was in Photos in the ios4, but now (in ios5) its in the wallpaper under settings.
Is Mobile Me still working after restoring with iOS 5 GM?
I need my emails and calendar but I don't mind if they do not sync anymore in cloud with my Macbook Pro

Mine seems to be working. At least the calendar seems to be (I've been testing it and yes, it does update each time I change the calendar in my iPhone or on my macbook pro).
