I still get gmail push for now but once that goes then I will be leaving gmail for all but the most basic of things, having already transferred all my contacts and important emails to icloud.

There is one issue with the Gmail app that drives me up the wall. Whenever I get a new email, the red notification badge on the app icon sometimes doesn't go away even after opening the app and opening the new email. I have to open the app, and let it sit and refresh before the app realizes the new email has been read and removes the red badge icon.

How???

I have this exact same issue with the iOS mail app, sometimes I have to go into the mail app several times before the red 1 will go away. Very frustrating.

After playing around for a while with Mailbox, I have switched to the stock Mail app now. Though, Mail app has two flaws, at least:
1. I can't attach files directly. For example, I need to go dropbox and get a link for a file. Mailbox allows to attach files right from dropbox.
2. No push for Gmail.

I recently switched over to the gmail app. But after deleting the account from the mail app, this still remains. Anyone know how to remove it?

I use iOS Mail. It's bad enough that I have to use Push for my work email. I definitely don't need my personal Gmail messages notifying me the instant they arrive.

This. You can text or call me if you need me that urgently. I don't run to the mail box the moment the mail man arrives. No OCD anxiety disorder for me thanks.
