I thought about that as well, especially since i'll be using a gift card to purchase (I've never used a gift card on the app before). Seems easy enough, but if there ends up being a problem, i'll be toast.
That happened to me one year. I had made some small change in my Verizon account and it wouldn't go through. Had to wait until Verizon was at work to get it resolved. By then I had to wait a month passed release to get a phone. If something like that happens to you it's the middle of the night, you're on your own.

Needles to say I didn't make any changes this year.

Nobody really wants animoji lol

And it’s certainly not a feature that will make your average consumer want to spend $1k

Not to mention it’s restricted to only iMessage. Now if people could tweet/snap/etc an animoji it might be a different story.
Nah I think animoji is going to be a popular feature. They wouldn't have gone to all the effort if they thought only 10% of users ever sent one regularly. I also believe that the ability to send it as a gif/video will come along at some point so that you can send it to an Android user. What better way to advertise the feature that Android doesn't have?

To be honest, since Apple already has my money, I feel a lot more comfortable going with the gift card method than Apple Pay or credit card. I'm a huge online shopper and have had a few random issues over the years with transactions not going through (not due to insufficient available credit). Especially since I'm ordering 2, there would be a 3k charge on my credit card, and who knows it that would get flagged or not by CC security. In any event, lets see how it goes!

I agree. Have people not noticed that these animal filters are extremely popular with women? This is the next logical evolution, completely transforming your face into another animal.

the animal filters also brighten your eyes, smoothens your skin and is a semi mask, hiding imperfections and highlighting your facial features. aka, its digital make up. they like it because it makes them look cute....
these animojis will make them look silly.

totally different.

I think animoji’s are neat ... for a little bit. Apple also thought iMessage stickers would take off and well...

Well I think this thread has been vindicated after last night. Now obviously demand was super high for this and ship dates started slipping within about 10 minutes for some models, but that is a far cry compared to what many were predicting based on all the rumors. Right now it looks like 5-6 weeks is the estimate for all models which again is a massive difference from the predictions of it slipping to next year within minutes.

I’ve been very much not in favor of the X but I have to admit I will be checking it out when my wife gets it. Could always change my mind. I like one being in the house I can test run ..more than the store..

Time to bring out the graph again...

Posters who were predicted sell outs lasting until 2018 simply didn't look at the data. They relied on gut feeling instead.

Relatively low demand for a $999 phone is mitigated by low production. It's not rocket science.
