Apple is putting all this effort into the experience for buying the Watch and here I am just going to have the thing shipped to my door.

Seriously, I was a server for almost a year to make extra money to pay off school debt and was making a few grand shy of 100k.

Not everyone who is a server works there full time. Some have other jobs too.

You made almost 100K? What place was this?

We give you 30 minutes and then you have to tell us if you are going to give us $17,000!

I think Tiffany would give you more than 30 minutes.

Yeah it's pretty crazy that they announced they'd call security and throw you out of the store if you don't decide in thirty minutes! What are they thinking??

"Lee is a server in a restaurant..."

If Lee can afford that watch he's stealing. I used to work restaurants during college. Never made enough to feel like I could afford a $1k watch. Between rent and drinks after work (not necessarily in that priority order), I'd never have blown that kinda cash on a watch.

Now that I'm older...well...maybe I'll take two. One for me, and one for my wife, so she doesn't give me any ***** for buying a $1k watch.

You were clearly working at a subpar restaurant then. I work 20-25 hours a week and can cover rent, car payment, school/school loans and whatever else I need without a problem. A $700 dollar watch is 3 shifts...

Servers in moderate to high end establishments make good money. They could easily afford a $1k watch. They probably own iPads, Macs and iPhones.

Really?

This is starting to really get "out of hand" get it? HAH. Apple is getting into the "exclusive" market. I guess they never had people in mind, just profit and alienation.

Apple will need to do a credit check prior to giving out 30min appts... i'm tempted to just say I want the gold watch just to spend 5mins with it and 25mins trying on other watches and combos. My watch of choice is 42mm Sports with white band.

If you need to buy a $10,000 watch on credit you should not be buying one in the first place. I can safely assume that people that have $10,000 plus have a iPhone 6 and would use Apple pay at a Apple store.
And anyone interested in buying a $549 plus Apple watch should have upgraded to a iPhone 6 already. If not they need to get their priorities straight.

30 minutes is more than plenty to spend $10K

The kind of person who would even consider spending $10K for a watch would be in and out in five minutes, if they didn't bother just sending in an assistant.

Wait sooooo if I spend 10k on a watch I will get 30 mins..instead of 15..???? 15 minutes more.........Where do I sign up?

Cos you couldn't afford the experience, you get to "feel" like you did when you unwrap the plastic with that fresh factory sweat smell :D Congrats to you big shot.

LOL you took that way to seriously.

If a server was always checking their phone while serving me, I would not be pleased. So same should hold true if he was checking his watch for phone updates....

You got the first sentence right but then reached the wrong conclusion. All the more reason for the server to have something on their wrist they can take a quick glance as without intruding on their work.

I can't wait to go to the Apple Store on the 13th and see what kind of fashion advice they give me. I wonder what they would say to me, a student, as I usually wear a plain hoodie, bluejeans, and grey sneakers.

I want to buy a Sport 42MM, silver, with a Milanese Loop. Can't wait to her what they suggest...

"Security!" :)

Kanye West and Beyoncé are going to love theirs - but what about everyone else in the world?

What would you be doing today with a $15,000 solid gold 1st generation iPad? Exactly.

Stuff like this makes it impossible to defend Apple.

I'm a server...have been for 6 years and I'm getting an AppleWatch.

That is so untrue. I make good money as a server. I have a decently expensive car, paid my way through Undergrad and beginning law school in the fall. All on a part time server job.

Yeah? Id love to see those tax forms where you arent claiming everything. Two of my cousins are servers. One at Applebees and the other at a high end 100 per plate restaurant in the city. Both lie about their tips every year. Sure you may be cash rich but getting credit on your salary is going to be pretty tough. You wont be getting the Apple Watch Edition. I dont mean to be so rude I just hate liars
