I’d like to know where you’ve seen those pictures. I’ve been looking for images of the green iPhone in the wild to see how different light affects the colour. Fancy sharing ?
I don't remember...it is in one of the threads from the last few days. It may be in the one that asks what color iPhone 11 are you getting. Try search.

Where did u see the screen
Not the screen, the sides bands and the back. It was in one of the recent threads on this site...I believe it was in the one that asked what color iPhone 11 are you getting. Poster put up two photos.

If they didn’t put out midnight green this year I’d have definitely got the Gold. I had the gold Xs very briefly and loved it.

Did anyone stop to think that the possible reason they have more Gold available is because they made higher quantities of that color being the most popular?

All about having the latest IMO. And the clear case selling out back that up too

If they skipped gold next year and brought it back 2021, gold would be the most popular again

I think the reason gold was so popular to begin with was that when Apple first offered that color option, it was the easiest way to show off that you had the NEW iPhone (the 5s) as opposed to the older iPhone 5. There were a ton of threads talking about that, back then. Personally, I thought it was silly (who cares if anyone knows you upgraded?!) and as I'm fairly pale, gold has never been my friend, so I've always stuck with silver. Anyway, this year there's a new color - Midnight Green - which, again, is an easy way to show off that you have the NEW iPhone (although the three ugly circles in the back ought to do it, as well) ... So, Midnight Green is the popular color this year.

I've own a Gold 5S, 6Plus and XS Max. I agree, Gold is no longer the color to own, it's that MIDNIGHT GREEN. I LOVE IT! And I'm not even upgrading I love that color so much. A lot of people will be sporting that Midnight Green, it'll be hard to get, and after a few months, that Midnight Green is the New Black - everyone will have it.

Personally think the midnight green (such a stupid name!) is horrible. Not for me. I’ve never had anything other than space grey, so for me gold is the colour to own. ;)

I know, I can’t wait to see it in person. I was going to get a dark colored iPhone this year. If midnight green wasn’t announced, I was going to get space gray. But that green, oh man.

It'll look awesome. Post and upload photos of it. Can't wait for you guys to get that color.

Gold is safe, as is, silver and black. But Midnight Green is attracting a lot of people. I believe there's a thread created by someone who changed their mind when pre-ordering. Went from Gold to Midnight Green. Join the Midnight Green Club because everyone will be on the wait for that color, while you will be the first on the streets to be sporting the new 11 Pro in Gold as people stare in envy. :p

Gold is popular with Asians and probably the best selling color in Asia.
Also, I see lots of gold iPhones in the hands of females since the rose gold popularity with the 6S has gone.
I have a gold Macbook Retina 12" which I got because these tiny, ultra slim laptops don't have the white backlit apple logo on the top cover. I did not want a silver / chrome apple so I chose the gold apple.

Not a huge fan of the green but honestly until I see it in person I can’t pass judgement.

I think it’s impossible to gauge popularity of a color based on availability considering how complicated the Apple supply chain is. Previous models and their popularity likely impact initial production numbers for the following year. If a color is new you don’t have the data points.

Essentially if inventory remains consistently available for a model (capacity, carrier, color), Apple nailed the supply chain. You can’t conclude that color is or is not popular just because the supply chain is working well and Apple has models available to sell. The goal is to always have what a customer will purchase ready to sell. Another important question, if we overproduce color xyz, will customers decide to pick that color up instead of another color or will they hold off their purchase. You would have to look at total percentage sold to determine that. There is a reason gold is very readily available and it isn’t an accident. It has always been a popular color and is probably more likely to sell when other choices aren’t available.

Speaking of gold, I feel that the gold iphones would look nicer if it had a complete white back instead of the slight brownish copper look that we currently have. Part of the appeal of gold iphones back then was the way apple paired it with white, another popular color (more popular when the iphone 4 was introduced).
Gold metal sides and a white glass back would look nicer than the current gold IMO. I loved that combination for older iphones.

I’m a female and got the midnight green myself. I guess like some on here have said, it’s “different”. I’ve always had silver and gold or rose gold in the past so it’ll be my first “darker” variation so I’m excited.
Me too. I've always gone for a white bezelled phone, so rose gold, silver etc. Gone for the green this time. A new experience!

When I see the gold phones, I always think of Paris Hilton. They were popular with the trendy, fashion-conscious but that crowd is notoriously fickle. “Gold is so last year, dahling.”

While the frame and buttons may be polished Gold color the back is pink-peach. Not exactly what people want

have you met older, wealthier asian women? the ones that will pop into the store this next weekend casually and buy a new phone casually?

Seriously, why would anyone make gold a primary color of 4, that is an epic fail. I wouldn’t get one if it was $400 cheaper than the other 3 colors, should have been a optional limited choice....it will not be a primary color next year for “pro” model.

I’ve ordered the gold Pro, looks like I’m ‘so last year’ :p tbh I’ve been using an iPhone 8 for the past two years, so technically I’m so two years ago :cool::p

I didn’t say anything about what percentages apple is making? I’m just going based on the fact that gold iPhones are still available on launch day and the other colors aren’t, and that gold was one of the ones to sell out in years past..

But that doesn't mean automatically that gold isn't populair, it just means that gold is less populair than that Apple anticipated. Because again you don't know what percentages of what color they're making. So you can't say anything in absolute terms (like Gold isn't populair) you can only say relative things like gold isn't as populair as Apple thought, which doesn't mean **** about the actual popularity.

I’ve never owned a SG iPhone before however this time around I’m going from a silver X to a MG 11 pro.

I actually think I would have a gold iPhone over a SG.

I will continue to stick to silver SS as long as I can so my Watch and iPhone match, but I'm weird.
