Thanks.
Yes, it is mkv, not avi. Wrong input in the older post.

Tested the MPlayerX from the App Store , now I know what the 10-bit movie should look like.

On iPad 2 with GoodPlayer, sometimes the color is wrong (just like some other desktop players that do not support 10-bit).
We will try the 10-bit support for GoodPlayer in the future.

Thanks for testing it!

Strange, why did it become .avi? It should be a .mkv file...

But anyway, MPlayerX from the App Store plays 10-bit files very well. I'm using my MacBook Air, so I'm sure MacBook Pros can play it perfectly. Here is the App Store link. It's free, since it's based on open-source codecs.

Thank you very much for the prompt and sincere responses. I'm glad I bought your application. If this can support 10-bit, it will be perfect.

I'm sure if you can implement support for 10-bit, it will be a very good selling point against competing applications, since 10-bit is rapidly becoming the standard of P2P media distribution - and there is a huge market there. Being able to play 10-bit will really put your app above the rest.

10-bit support is not an simple task for us, a lot of changes is needed in the low level.
However, surely we will try to support it. Thanks a lot.

Ios 5 & 1080p

Sorry if this has been asked already:

With IOS 5 coming out for iPhone 4s, which enables 1080P recording & playback (I am assuming the same for IOS 5 on IPAD 2), is there a chance future versions of Goodplayer on iPhone 4s or IPAD 2 will be able to play:
-1080p MP4 movies
- 1080P MKV movies

Both of the above I am assuming will need to tap into the ios devices video hardware acceleration. Does Apple limit this, or does Goodplayer have full access to video hardware acceleration API's?

Thx

-1080p MP4 movies: supported now (only when the iPod plugin turns on)
For limited file formats such as MP4,M4V and MOV, by iPod plugin(GoodPlayer-->Settings-->Plugin Setting-->iPod, Turn on "iPod"), the 1080P (1920x1080) MP4,M4V and MOV playback supported via iOS devices system hardware acceleration

1080P MKV movies: only software decoding, surely there are limitation on API,only iPod plugin playback can use video hardware acceleration, so no smooth playback for 1080P mkv.

Is there a good reason to keep the iPod Plugin "off" (that seems to be the default on my iPod and iPad)?

i hope GoodPlayer to support rename/delete/move file in SMB server, any chance?

GoodPlayer iOS 5 AirPlay Mirroring test report.
Just as said before, there is something new about AirPlay in iOS. AirPlay Mirroring is just what we needed.

Test settings:
1. GoodPlayer 3.5
2. Apple TV 2 with Apple TV Software beta 6
3. iPad 2 with iOS 5 GM

Test result: It is wonderful, all the GoodPlayer native playback can be AirPlay Mirroring on the TV :)

Something needed for AirPlay Mirroring support:
1. iOS 5
2. iPad 2 or iPhone 4S, only these 2 iOS devices support AirPlay Mirroring now
3. Apple TV 2 with a firmware that supports AirPlay Mirroring, now only beta firmware supports AirPlay Mirroring.
4. During the testing, Toggle Mirroring to "On" on the testing iOS devices (do not forget it!), check http://www.tipb.com/2011/07/14/daily-tip-ios-5-airplay-mirroring-facetime/
5. GoodPlayer that supports AirPlay (version 2.8+), do not try it on too older version.

"native playback" as in '.avi' files too?

that would be amazing :)

Does GoodPlayer support 720p output via TV-Out (HDMI Adapter)? So if I play a 720p MKV it plays on my TV in full resolution?

That would be a killer feature!

Yes, all the file formats that GoodPlayer supports can use AirPlayer Mirroring, .avi,.flv,.mkv,....

GoodPlayer only supports a fixed TV-out resolution (1024x768) now, we will add more TV-out resolution option in the future (even 1080P is possible for TV-out resolution).

Thanks for your reply. That's a deal breaker for me. I need at least 720p TV out . Once you guys add that I'll be buying this app for sure (and recommending it to everyone I know ;-)). Thanks again.

With ios5 airplay mirroring, does this mean that Goodplayer will be able to airplay all supported file formats? And using airplay, will playing videos fill up the whole tv screen (widescreen tv) or show up as 4:3?

Yes, With iOS 5 airplay mirroring, GoodPlayer is able to airplay all supported file formats.

And using airplay, playing videos fill up the whole tv screen (widescreen tv) , not 4:3

What's New in GoodPlayer Version 3.6
1. iOS 5 tested
2. Downloader improved on HTTP Basic Authentication support
3. Portuguese localization added, thanks Gil
4. Italian localization improved, thanks Andrea again

No schedule for it, if there is news for it. We will notify you here.
Do you know when we will get 720/1080p TV out?

----------

First , are you sure that it is iOS 5 AirPlay Mirroring(wireless connection)? Not the older iOS 4 Video Mirroring (need the physical connection)?

For older iOS 4 Video Mirroring, it is 4:3.
For iOS 5 AirPlay Mirroring, it is fullscreen in our testing. (iPad 2+Philips TV)

There is no more control for AirPlay Mirroring and Video Mirroring in GoodPlayer. So some questions only can be answered by Apple support.

i just tried a avi using airplay mirroring and it is 4:3, not fullscreen?

of course im using ios5, im not a ****ing idiot, like i would have used ios4 the day after ios 5 was released comon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. it doesnot go fullscreen, i have a 27" samsung hdtv, I tried a 350mb avi and 1gb mkv file and both stayed in 4:3 as ipad format. Plus MKV has bad playback even on the Ipad 2. there just trying to get you to buy their app and are liars

Nice way to get help from the developer. They need the facts to properly assist you so can't just make assumptions.
