There is no setting for AirPlay Mirroring on our programming side (for AirPlay Mirroring, we cannot control fullscreen or 4:3 in source code at all). We just can get what we get while the AirPlay Mirroring works.
And for the test result, on our 37" Philips TV,it is surely fullscreen.
We do not know why you get the 4:3 always. In our testing, when the normal app works, it is 4:3; when the video starts playback, it is fullscreen.

By the way, maybe there are settings on Apple TV side for TV related parameters, you can try that. For us, we just use the default Apple TV settings and it works for us.

of course im using ios5, im not a ****ing idiot, like i would have used ios4 the day after ios 5 was released comon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. it doesnot go fullscreen, i have a 27" samsung hdtv, I tried a 350mb avi and 1gb mkv file and both stayed in 4:3 as ipad format. Plus MKV has bad playback even on the Ipad 2. there just trying to get you to buy their app and are liars

Nice way to get help from the developer. They need the facts to properly assist you so can't just make assumptions.

Soz for shouting earlier,

Some TV's, including my Sony, have setting that control whether the incoming signal is displayed in 4:3 or wide screen. Check your TV setting.

Yes, surely we just want to know all the details from the older post questions. No offense at all.
English is not my native language, so some of my wording maybe is so approptciate.

Hey,

I purchased your app today. However I've noticed that when I play a local MKV (one that is on the iPad) and use the TV Out using the Apple AV Adapter (HDMI) the video on the TV seems to stutter a bit while it's playing back smoothly on the iPad screen. This is on an iPad 2.

Is this normal?

It is not normal, if it is smooth on local screen, then it should be smooth on TV.
It seems that you use Video Mirroring? You can try other way instead.
If possible , you can try AirPlay Mirroring on iOS 5. Or you can try TV-out of the GoodPlayer (tv-out is not Video Mirroring), GoodPlayer->Settings->TV-out->Turn on always.

This issue maybe has something to do with the network, 802.11n wifi ap is recommended.

AirPlay Mirroring 4:3 issue revisit:
It seems that we now know why the test results of AirPlay Mirroring are different. The difference should be introduced by the different Apple TV 2 firmware.
Here are the new test results

1) older firmware
Apple TV 2 with Apple TV Software beta 6
Days ago we used this firmware. For AirPlay Mirroring video playback, it is full screen on TV.

2) official 4.4 firmware just released with official iOS 5
Apple TV 2 4.4 official firmware 9A334v (looks with a small build number than beta 6 firmware)
Minutes ago we updated the Apple TV 2 with this official 4.4 firmware
Now for AirPlay Mirroring video playback, it is 4:3 on TV.
There is a full screen case: iPod plugin + mp4/mov playback is full screen.
However, avi/mkv/flv native playback is 4:3

I just bought your app

OK I just bought your app and here's what you should improve:

Playing 720p MKV videos on an iPad 2:

- After rewinding, the video and audio is out of sync almost every time

- The MKV video performance is generally better in other players (where your player stutters, other player for instance AVPlayerHD is still fluent)

GUI:

- seriously, the bottom three icons for Documents,Refresh, Downloader/Browser are really ugly

- I don't know what is the purpose of the bottom left icon, when I click on it it takes me to "Documents", but when I turn the app on I'm already in Documents. I understand that in one case I can play the file and in the other I can edit/delete the file but this is really, really confusing

- Displaying the file name while playing in the left corner should be possible to turn off

I like your app, but please, especially the first issue with 720p MKV playback should be your priority now, maybe some files play good I can't tell, but I tried 3 of them and every time there was a problem.

.

the file browser lets you delete .srt subtitle files, which the 'media library' view doesn't show.

okay goodplayer really need thumbnail support. i am sorry but this is a major issue for me. without that I cant rate you more than 4 stars.

720P mkv performance issue is actually always a highest priority task for us in a long time, and we have spent lots of time on it too. But we get no progress on it so far.
For the rewinding sync issue, it is a performance issue too, if the performance good enough, it will be much better.

About GUI:
1. 3 icons, maybe we will change them later, we need to find some good icons first
2. File Manger can show/edit all file types, the main window only shows supported file types
3. Since it just shows seconds, it a low priority task for us, please wait

About thumbnail support, we will try add manual thumbnail support first. However , there are tons of new features and bug fixes on our todo list. So it will take some time.

Unification is good from some angle, and unification is bad from other angle. So far, we have no plan for this unification.

Yeah, I know both views have different functions, but it should be somehow unified. This is just confusing.

Hey bought the app recently, but Im having problems getting the FTP to work when im away from my house. I can FTP into my home network and NAS from a computer in my colege so i can confirm that FTP to my network does work. The app will not FTP into to my network though, it just tries to connect and sometimes gives an 'open stream error' message on screen. Any idea what the problem might be??

Sorry, there is a bug in the 3.6 FTP client. The username/password support is broken in the 3.6 version FTP client. Please wait for 3.7 version.

Megavideo and airplay

Hi, i want to know if the app supports full-screen Airplay on Apple TV2 (or just mirroring), and if it reproduces megavideo links. If not, do you have plans to include these features in the near future? Thank you very much!

For Airplay Mirroring on Apple TV 2, it is only 4:3 now.
Just tried the newest 4.4.1 Apple TV 2 firmware, it is still 4:3.
Since there is no control for AirPlay Mirroring in the source code, it seems we can only wait for the Apple TV 2 firmware updates in the futures. (there was beta Apple TV 2 firmware supporting full screen AirPlay Mirroring)

Just got this useful app. Playback is very smooth over smb.It would be really useful to have a sidebar in the GUI to store your network shortcuts and bookmarks.

Thanks, we will consider this feature.

And, this tip will help sometimes.
Tips for quick SMB/FTP folder access: during adding a SMB/FTP server, in the "IP Address" input field, the "192.168.1.1/folder" (no quotation marks in inputting) like strings can be input for quick SMB/FTP folder access. Only inputting IP address is still okay. And if the DNS server can resolve the hostname and domain name correctly, you can use hostname or domain name here instead IP address.

What's New in Version 3.7
1. SMB/FTP/WebDAV client supports special characters in username and password (note: HTTP Downloader doest not support special characters in username and password yet)
2. WebDAV client improved, support Synology DS1511+ NAS WebDAV server, thanks Chia for the testing server access
3. Downloader improved
4. Finnish localization added, thanks Patrik
5. Korean localization added

7. FTP client improved

WebDAV client isn't functional:

- unable to display contents of subdirectories beyond root directory
(it does display content when setting URL directly to the folder containing videos)

- downloading of videos via WebDAV doesn't work - download manager claims completion of download, but the local file shows as 0-bytes.

Running standard Lion 10.7.2 WebDAV server.

Thanks.
By standard Lion 10.7.2 WebDAV server, do you mean use the Apache server with Lion 10.7.2. We did not test this server. We will test it soon.

We tested Lion 10.7.2 WebDAV server. This issue should be fixed. And it is not an app issue, it is a server side issue.

1. At first we got the same exact issue as yours, cannot download, cannot streaming from Lion 10.7.2 WebDAV server
2. Check the access right of the WebDAV shared files on the Lion's Terminal application, it turns out these files are only read for the root user, so the WebDAV server does not have the right to access them at all, this cause the issues in #1
3. In Lion's Terminal application, use "chmod a+r *" to set the access right, so WebDAV server has the right to access them
4. Check again with GoodPlayer WebDAV client, both download and streaming are okay now

Good news for AirPlay Mirroring:
after upgrading the Apple TV 2 firmware to 4.4.2 (released on Oct. 24th, 2011),
The AirPlay Mirroring avi/flv native video playback tv-out of GoodPlayer is no longer 4:3, now it is nearly full screen on our Philips TV with the help of upper right corner full screen switch button.

My videos already have read-access for any type of user, so 'chmod a+r *' won't make any difference with permissions.

After playing with it some more - I discovered WebDAV only works when I set the URL to the root server (example: 'http://192.168.1.10/webdav')

Whenever I point the URL to a more specific subdirectory (example: 'http://192.168.1.10/webdav/mymedia') - the client displays empty subdirectories, and downloads 0-byte files. It looks as if the client doesn't authenticate correctly, unless it is pointed to the server root.

I can probably live with just pointing the URL to the root for now.. But the issue is certainly with your client, and not my server configuration or file permissions. I have numerous other iOS apps (such as Good Reader or Readdle Docs) accessing my WebDAV server via URLs pointing to specific sub-folders, and everything works fine.
