Well whoever made the first folding phone (?) will have a big payday when Apple finally gets around to pinning down a release date for their folding phone.

Google Gemini AI is a light years better than Siri, and with iOS 26 Apple finally get HomePod mini networking sorted out so it no longer drops out 5 times a day. Which one shows real progress?
sucks that Apple can't have an AI assistant yet..like wtf! put ChatGPT on HomePods, I don't care apple, do something...Gemini, ChatGPT and llama are awesome, how apple doesn't have something to compete with this is mind-blowing
Those have their users but will often make mistakes with fully confidence. Generally speaking that’s not something the Apple brand likes to associate itself with. As users can already install all of these apps on most of their devices there’s no major rush-to-market for Apple. They should pick their battles and do them well. If their chatbot is eventually coming they should figure out a way to let it fail gracefully, rather than confidently assert erroneously. Try to have some patience.
Not often, very occasionally. And to be honest Gemini continues to get better because it's directly integrated with Google Search for tasks that require the latest verifiable information. This is a distinct competitive advantage Gemini has over ChatGPT.
The only reason I mentioned the launch date of the Homepod was to illustrate its launch date was so close to the Google Home Mini that neither would have influenced the other - BUT the Google Home Mini would have influenced the design and direction of the Homepod Mini. We know for a fact that mini-style smart speakers have been way more popular within the consumer market.
This is what I meant when I said there's no question Apple was inspired by Google's Mini design - not for the Homepod, but for the Homepod Mini.
