"Unlimited" has conditions, read the fine print:
If your photos are over 16 MP or video over 1080p, you dip into your limited free storage of 15 GB. It will also compress your images/video into what Google defines as "High Quality."
Not saying this isn't good, but it's not the second coming either.

Can Apple Photos do all the background categorisation and processing that Google Photos does?
Can I write "me on the beach" and give me the pictures where I appear on a beach?
And, by the way, it is not a new app, it is just pulled off from Google Plus into an independent app
High quality option gives you unlimited storage, original resolution gives you what you have on Onedrive
I feel like the bigger story is the name not having a sweet attached to it.

Gosh. A whole 7% increase. It's almost as if three new major flagship devices were shipped and sold in that time.
Google I/O isn't supposed to be exciting. It's a dev conference. :|

Well, generally, I find WWDC pretty exciting, even if I try to see it from a simple user perspective.
This was the first time I watched I/O and it was mostly boring stuff with quite a few being ripped off from things that Apple already does.
I wonder who dares to upload their photos to Google Photo, and not be afraid of becoming public domain.
