I think it is quite usable now, it is not as bloated as Facebook is.

Anyone want a Google+ invite?

Does anyone want an invite to Google+? I don't know if there's a limit on how many we can invite but I'll invite as many as I can. lol I'll create a MacRumors circle!

It's not too bad, but it's the little things. Why can't I rename a photo album to something other than the date (and if I can, why isn't it obvious)? Why isn't an automatic invite sent if I add someone to a Circle that isn't on G+? Why does the notification icon not count new messages in GMail? etc

Don't forget it is still in beta, they haven't gone public yet. I like where they are going with it though.

They are good suggestions (I was just thinking today that they should notify you if you get a gmail). And as some one said, don't forget it is in beta.

And.... in the bottom right corner you should see a floating button on G+ that says feedback. I'm sure they'd love to hear those suggestions ;). They already announced some changes to respond to people's feedback that they've been given so they are listening.

I believe that Google+ is using Picasa (Photos link in the menu bar) for the photo storage/hosting, so maybe you can rename the albums from Picasa?

You are quite right.

As in anything else "new" there's a bit of a learning curve. But I have been using it for a week and find it the best of all. I'm not particularly enamored with Google as a company, and yet I do believe they will be a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Google + as it becomes more widely available and used by many.

They are using the tried and true Apple technique at the moment.

Make it seem exclusive "by invitation" thereby creating more demand, and bringing the curious in for a very positive, convincing experience. "It just works".

I can foresee this finely engineered product becoming the dominant player in it's field. The "Circles" concept, fine granular control and far better methods available to you the end user, over who has access to what you have posted is easily and much more logically controlled than any other social media platform.

There may be a lull of sorts while people become accustomed to, and learn the various protocols, but once that's done, Google + may very well spread like wildfire.

If Zuck isn't losing a bit of sleep over this new venture, he's most definitely living in denial.
