Google Chairman Eric Schmidt Says Relationship with Apple 'Improving'

Schmidt is an odd guy. He has a pretty good sense of humor though so it could be that he was being sarcastic.

However it's hard to believe relations between the two companies would get worse now that SJ is out of the picture. No disrespect to SJ, but Tim Cook is a 'calmer head'.

Apple hates Google, Google loves Samsung, Samsung hates Apple, Google hates Microsoft, Samsung's OK with Microsoft but cant remember their name so keeps calling it ATIV, and Apple and Microsoft have a love/hate relationship

Companies don't hate other companies.

That's a personification best left for people on forums.

I'm glad YouTube and Google Maps were removed from the OS. In the space of about six months we had two apps that had seen greater and more updates than the iOS bundled versions had seen since they were first released.

In my eyes it was a remarkably positive move. Sure, customers went a few months without Google Maps, but now it's back in the store I think the end users are far better off than they were under the existing arrangement.

Apple and Google sitting in a tree....

Nobody wants this!

For one thing, Google and Samsung havent been getting on for a long time now, especially now that Samsung is readying Tizen to replace Android on their devices.

Is it wrong that I hope Samsung goes all in on Tizen... and completely tanks as a result? :p

I'm obviously an Apple fan, but I'm also a Google fan. It's Samsung I can't stand.

The calming radiant blue background behind him compels me to believe him. ;-)

Ha! Best comment.

And to the poster who said "doesn't iOS 7 look like android?" Sure, which looks like iOS, which looks like PalmOS...

That might be true if you could change the defaults, and app URIs worked much much much better in iOS than they do today.

Sadly neither of those things are true.

If these thawing relations lead to that it would be good news.

Well... this means Steve Jobs was the one who was in war with Google not Apple. So, soon we are going to see a merge between both operative systems... wait... doesn't iOS7 looks like an android phone right now?

And the award of troll of the year goes to....

Good.

I'm torn with google maps. I like the interface of apple's map app but wish I could use the search algorithm of google.

Nobody cares what that little weasel, Eric Schmidt, has to say. Until Google gets rid of him and the three stooges at the top, nothing will change.

Google will be just as arrogant and controlling as ever.

I remember back in the days when Microsoft became a 'good friend' of Citrix, and then 'legally stole' part of their revolutionary Remote Desktop technology, being only able to keep their ICA technology away from Microsoft.

My complements to the most pointless post ever. :D

That's the makings of a soap opera, you should submit a script to tv executives.

This news is going to disappoint blood craving fans on both sides.

Haha, not sure what's there to be a fan of when it comes to Adobe. I have zero issues with Adobe btw but I can't imagine anyone saying, "I'm a big fan of Photoshop". It's just a software tool. The Creative Suite may possibly be one's favorite creativity software but Adobe is a software company, are people really "fans" of software?

So because this guy called Jobs an a****** that makes him one? I THINK NOT!!!! Jobs was was brilliant, but he was one!!!!

You just look like one when you defend him!

I simply posed a question or two, I accused nobody and defended nobody. And now you accuse me of being an ******* for your lack of reading comprehension?

Can't we just agree that we're all *******s? :)

Apple and Samsung sueing each other and trying to ban the sales of the others products, how is that helping their users by eliminating choice. Google pulling support for Gmail on WindowsPhone, how is that helping their users? Or all the FUD in Microsoft's Scroogled campaign? Sounds like they have some issues with each other to me :)
