you know something is up when Apple team up with Microsoft and RIM. Unholy alliance at its worst.
That the heck are you talking about, yes they are free of cost, but you give up your privacy as a trade off. If you don't believe me, go check out the little AdMob flash cookie stored in your computer, that deleting cookies don't erase. I am sorry, I don't want google knowing what I click and when I click it. You are paying a price my friend, just not with your wallet.
Anyone who thinks Apple plays a fair game is a clown. I own all Apple computers, but if they don't show consideration for anyone but themselves soon, that will be coming to an end.
um, last I checked, Android OS has a lot more innovation going on than iOS by a clear margin. iOS is just starting to get notification implementation. LOL
they're also just starting to make LED notifications on the new iPhone. Thats like 3-4 years too late there Apple.
And btw, the Google Labs were shut down because it was hardly used, and Google is focusing on their core products. You make it seem as though Google Labs were an actual scientific research facility working on top secret skunkworks projects. LOL
Google offers a LOT of productivity driven products, for FREE.
Let me ask all you Apple fankids out there, what did you get from Apple that was 'productivity driven' that was 'free.'
I'll list just three that Google offered to the end user that was free
- Gmail (the first to offer large storage space for email accounts. If it weren't for Google, you'd be paying monthly fees on crappy hotmail/yahoo mail)
- Google Maps (it made MapQuest look like childs play. Oh, and free Navigation application, along with traffic intelligence. Thanks Google! Didn't have to pay a dime for that! On iOS you have to pay for a 3rd party app that kills your battery life!)
- Google Music (Apple is making you pay for your storage, Google offers free storage)

So let me get this straight, Google is angry somebody else than them bought the patents? Isn't the point of a free market that anyone can compete for the same product?
johnmacward said:Patents are pure evil. They simply protect private property and make your innovation for you only no matter what you benefitted from. May those same patent holders erase all knowledge of free and public science education and information passed on from generation to generation with no restriction on it's use. You owe history an enormous deal, payback can be in the form of freeing your ideas like those in the past did.
Like Google or hate them, they are not patent fiends and do less to protect their current products and more to create new ones than many of their competitors/other big tech companies.
Just a little fact for you. Google is an advertising, search engine company. This is where their profit comes from.
You realize that Google knows more about you than your mom. Yeah, you're not paying money to Google but rather paying your private information that Google uses for their algorithms. Google is just using you as a piece of DATA. Little wake up call.
man oh man, you probably shouldn't go on most any website as you are being tracked via cookies.
you shouldn't even use your phone, as you're being tracked by your carrier.
and why are you even on facebook? they are the epiphany of mining your data to 3rd party companies (like Zynga).
if you're worried about 'privacy' issues, its probably best to delete your facebook account![]()
No, they just shamelessly copy products using insider information such as Eric Schmidt acquired while "working" on Apple's board of directors. I guess he feels that information should be "open", so it's OK.

Android... Innovation?
HA.
Google would be doing the same thing.
Its funny to how everyone here is bitching about Apple but fails to realize that MICROSOFT AND RIM (and I believe a few others) are in on it too, its not just Apple.
But since this forum is full of blind Apple hatred I'm not surprised.
That being said I think that only NEW products from patents after changing hands should be allowed to be licensed. I don't think existing things should apply.
By that I mean unless Google drastically changes Android they shouldn't have to pay anything since they didn't before the patent was bought, if that makes sense.
Your perception of of an alternate Apple-less reality is disturbing and baseless. As for anyone who thinks Apple doe snot play fair: Apple would have gone decades ago if they did not and you would be listening to your portable CD player and using a computer with 60 buttons for multimedia and a mouse with 12 buttons. No iPad or anything, no Windows 7. So they play whatever game they HAVE to to survive. If you don't understand it: come and work for some of these companies, they are all total bastards.
