The only thing I miss from my old Pixel 4 is the crystal-clear camera quality, Pixels really have something good going there.

The watch tho, I still hate that smallish round shape with a passion - either make it bigger or move to a rounded rectangle, the display just doesn't work as is.

By the way, there's good reason for the Pixel 9 Pro/XL models to have 16 GB of RAM: it's running Android. Because of the way Android manages RAM (which is far less efficient than how Apple manages RAM), you really do need 16 GB of RAM to supports all its features, especially the Gemini AI functionality.

kind of garbage...wait for the iphone line up with that N3E and these google phones will look like a mid tier performance devices but camera
Wait for the iPhone fold phone in 2 to 3 years and this phone will be garbage in comparison? I would think any 2 or 3 year old phone would be much slower and dated than a new phone.

Not sure why people are so heavily critical about non Apple phones, especially non Apple phones that Apple has no competition for.

I love the idea of foldable phones and when Apple does eventually have one I am sure they will do it really well and by that time everyone else will be doing it better then they are today as well, everyone else just had the guts to work it out while Apple waits. I have no real issue with Apples approach, it has us users with generally solid and bug free hardware.

Just tried trading in my P8P for a P9P - a beyond pathetic £392, with a £200 "boost". 🤣

I mean, if that is all they value their own phones at, clearly I am looking at the wrong manufacturer....

Why would you even? Why would you save a picture that is fake? You travel to this place, wherever that may be, and then fake the picture of what it looks like? Why even bother go anywhere? Just "fake" whatever, but for what reason? Looking back at your pictures to see you in a place you haven't been, with friends that wasn't there. Why? What could possibly be the reason? I'm at a total loss here

Modern philosophy will get very interesting in the very near future. Step aside Plato and Socrates, we've got bollman and [TBA]!

Does the Pixel still not support Fat 32 drives? This was something the reviewers never mentioned and why I knew no one was buying these phones, otherwise people would be asking why they can’t connect their camera cards or portable drive to the phone. For me though it was the jarring haptic feedback that drove me away. Another fun fact: Google proper has nothing to do with the design and manufacture of these phones, it’s all done by HTC which Google does own but is run independently. You Pixel owners can look at your mobile carrier account settings and see what it says there.

iPhone hardware maybe better but software and features on pixels win and you aren't stuck in a walled garden
I would almost say the opposite. I think Apple software rocks, I prefer the Walled Garden over the Unwanted Jungle. Meaning that I would be unhappy even if I can use 99.9% of services out there, because I can only use one at a time. I want to use the ones I think are best - Apple Services, ...that only are available on Apple Products..

Or...almost no one does that.

12GB for the Pixel, 16GB for the Pixel Pro models
16 GB in a device that costs $999? Absolute madness, giving their customers more than the bare minimum... sounds like Google is lacking in Courage™ these days! :apple:

...OK, joking aside, this does seem like a pretty good phone. I don't know if people will actually use the phone's new AI features or if those features are just going to be gimmicks that'll be forgotten about after a week, but everything else about the Pixel makes it look like a solid, respectable phone.

Oh my, I didn't knew Google would hold a Pixel event at this time. I always thought it was around Spring of this year. It felt like yesterday when they revealed the Pixel 8 lineup.

I wouldn't buy these myself, but this looks like a solid lineup with some good phones. Kudos to Google for that.

Now looking forward to what Apple will bring for the next month.

Apple is over priced and boring honestly..
Well, yes,
And that's a good thing!
Technology should be a tool, not your reason to exist. Thinking of screwdrivers here, it's important that they work and all but they aren't supposed to be your life validation.

Overpriced... maybe?
That's hard to know, they could get away with both higher and lower prices...

These look good, especially the fold. Wish they kept the aspect ratio of the original but all the tech blogs were whining about it. Who wants an almost-square tablet?

Sure, but for me, at least, one's phone has never been part of any calculation.

...Plus, 90% of people, Android and iPhone, stick their phone in a case.

It is like people who apparently care what others think about what they have parked on their driveway, or obsess over what others park on theirs. Hard to imagine living a life like that.

In a few months these will be on sale. Wife picked up a Pixel 8 for $399 from Spectrum, spring of this year. Paid cash, unlocked, and out the door. It was a nice upgrade from her Pixel 2.

I might look at the Pixel line in two or three years when my 13 Pro is due for an upgrade.
