Embarrassment? It’s been a flat out no show, well the Siri AI part. Don’t know why Apple is hesitating on paying the billions for Perplexity and vastly improving their AI and to stop letting Meta poach all their Top Level AI talent.

Yeah that's for sure. It pains me to say it but I also have a Galaxy S25 Ultra and Samsung is absolutely killing Apple when it comes to AI integration. It really is embarrassing that the wealthiest company in the world with the most resources is such a mess when it comes to software. Somewhere there is a problem in that organization and it usually starts at the top.

Developing AI is obviously a lot more expeditious when you don't have to care about customer privacy. As a core part of the surveillance economy, it makes sense that Google can just put the vacuum cleaner in turbo mode and Hoover up anything and everything for their LLMs.

There is way more to it than that. Apple's photo cleanup is an outright disgrace. Its such a worthless feature and is miles behind its competitors that offer the same thing. Its not even close.

Ouch. Google is not wrong tho.. Apple Intelligence advertising all over Apple stores, billboards, etc, yet nothing. But we have Glass UI! lol

Why? iPhone users have access to all AI services across the internet, including Google's Gemini.
They did promise Apple Intelligence though and they don’t allow Gemini to fully integrate. Look at Gemini on a S25 Ultra or any top end android phone to see what it can really do.

That is how they _used_ to work. But they've missed the mark a few time, which doesn't mean they're dead or gone or bad, but there is some trouble there in adapting to new technology.

I've been iPhone only since they were first introduced. I started carrying both a Pixel 9 Pro XL and my iPhone 16 PM b/c Siri is so useless and Gemini, is frankly, pretty amazing now (after some rough starts). Replaced the Pixel 9 Pro XL with the Fold 7 last week, and, daaaamn, I'm not sure if I'll keep carrying the iPhone until they catch up (which seems to be at least a year away, assuming there are zero more innovations on the Android side).

I love Apple, but at what point does "we aren't first, we're the best" turn into "we aren't first, we talk about being the best, and fail to deliver on it". They aren't dead. They'll figure it out eventually, but Siri has been terrible/behind the curve for a good 2yrs now...I'm not inclined to wait for another.
Fold7 and Flip7 are real masterpieces! Far ahead of iPhones. They just lack ecosystem.
