There are a bunch of launchers but Nova still works great and this one is Microsoft launcher and it's a real good one too. Just can't get the love for Pixel's launcher.
The weather app is called Meteored and it shows my address instead of just the city I'm in. That's the mini version of it.

Also I made my phone a developer to find what version of GPU it's on....it's on 24.3 and I'm reading we need the update to 25.1 for the system to run faster/ smoother.

Also found I can now find the temp of my phone being a developer. Its in the options.

I know I am not 'Pixel-ing' this time around but having taken delivery of my 17 Pro 2 hours ago, and it STILL not finishing restoring apps from iCloud, it really makes me appreciate the seamless back up / transfer Android offers.

It's been laughable since I unboxed it. The phone wouldn't sign me in to iCloud, kept giving me a system error which I had to mess about disconnecting Wi-Fi to sort, and then when it finally did work the phone was noticeably warm! So the whole thermal management thing has gone out the window! :D

Hope you are all enjoying your Pixels!

I find the apple back up/transfer/restore much better than android in my experience. For me, it's only the banking/security apps that need logging into again

IDK about iOS26(since I don't own an iPhone anymore) but iPadOS26 official release is not ready for primetime. The banding issue with all of the widgets in dark mode is still there since the developer's beta. The icons spazzing out in the settings app is also still there. The only selling point that kept me coming back to Apple was the OS, which used to be more polished and organized than Windows or Android.. Now it's an utter mess compared to Android.

MacOS26 official release isn't doing so hot either with Airplay 2 connection errors. I don't know if the problem is with Sonos or Apple but it works fine on my iPad and Zfold7(AirMusic). Plus it also has the banding issue in dark mode as well.

I'm sure the 17PM is a great piece of hardware, I am just hoping it's not going to be hindered by the software.

I have restored many a device across both operating systems and iPhone's is by far and away well below Android. Consistently.

Absolutely.

I just did last night and makes everything warmer and better on the eyes. I tried out at first last week, and I didn't like how it made everything yellowish. But in hindsight, the default makes whites very blue and too bright.

So I enabled it again and much prefer now.

The icloud error is due to the sheer amount of people trying to set up their new iPhone from icloud, happens every year on release day!

I had a similar experience but got there in the end. All good now

It isn't just the iCloud error. I had to cancel all my app downloads individually and re-download again because it just wasn't working. And then I had issues restoring my WhatsApp back up which was a total nightmare.
Just not as seamless as it should be.

I had that same issue a while back, a restart of the phone and everything started to download as it should have in the 1st place.

Might help you out in the future if you have that problem again.

Yeah I tried turning it off and back on lol. Thanks.

iOS 26 in my opinion is the worst release Apple has had overall. I like some of the new visuals and the increased ability to customize the device, but man, iOS is just not nearly as intuitive as any version of Android at this time and it is much more buggy now, especially when compared to OneUI 8. If I could get everyone in my circle away from iOS I'd probably be done with it for good but it is the best overall communications solution for me with everyone using facetime, imessage, findmy, etc. Picking up my 17PM today, but literally zero excitement for it other than the battery life improvements and perhaps the display improvement.

That happens sometimes - for at least a couple years now - even with 'simple' app updates installed through the App Store on a non-new iOS or iPadOS device. For me, anyway.

Haven't encountered that issue with a Pixel device. There have been occasions of Android app update downloads slowing considerably for a while before returning to normal speed. But not stuck downloads.

Zero issues on my 17 PM, but still waiting for Pixel Fold release.

So my trade-in for the very old Galaxy S21 Ultra was approved by Google UK yesterday. Kerching!

Therefore, I am happy to have the Google Pixel Pro 10 XL (RRP £1199) for £673 plus the £204 store credit that bought me a set off Pixel Buds Pro 2 and an official silicone case. Pre-orders this year were good in the UK.

To top it all off, I am loving the phone.. it works seamlessly with my beloved Galaxy Watch8 Classic too. The user experience has been a breath of fresh air.

I have not missed the Galaxy S25 Ultra or been tempted to try the iPhone 17 Pro Max (yet).

As someone here kindly helped me with my original purchase of the Pixel 10 Pro XL.

I would like to do the same for others.. I now have 10 x 15% off Pixel phone codes for the Google Store UK to pass on to you guys.

PM if interested.
If you have any codes left, I'll take 1 as may have another purchase lined up

If anyone has the 10% off your next purchase code that came out two weeks ago, I could use one. I am mad at Google support right now. I canceled my 41mm pixel watch 4 so I could order the 45mm. I had a 10% coupon that I had used on the first preorder and asked support beforehand if I would get it back and they said yes, but it is no longer working. So now my watch is $40 more than I was expecting to pay and support won't do anything about it. They said they would escalate it to senior support, but I think I got ghosted.
