Has video improved on the Pixel 10 XL? Videography was pretty poor with the P9XL I had. The color reproduction and contrast was just always off compared to the iPhone 15 Pro I was also using at the time. It was the only thing on the Pixel that I thought was completely a clear level behind the iPhone. I loved nearly everything else about the Pixel.

Has there been any major improvements here with the newest Pixel?

I don't really do too much video but the times that I've used they all seem to come out fine.. I'm also still running with a iPhone 15 Pro Max... The pixel has been running smooth and I just downloaded Android 17 beta 3

The other day I managed to do a side-by-side comparison between an iPhone 16E and a Google pixel 10a. I really liked the pixel, OS feels really snappy and responsive, very clear and polished interface. 16E was a clear step back once I hold it in every possible way. It was slow in comparison and due to iOS26 and transparency effects the interface looks crowded and distracting. I never been so close to move to Android

Liquid Glass for iOS was a mistake, IMO. I don't think Apple needed to rehaul every OS' design just cause of Vision Pro.

Not fond of it on MacOS either.

How are you liking the beta? And the floating windows?
How hard is it to get out of the beta program? I'm interested but I don't want to have to reset my phone.

There’s a narrow window where you can get out without a reset, but you need to closely follow the Android beta subreddit to avoid missing it. I did a couple betas, never had any real issues and have never had to do a reset, but just haven’t had as much interest as of late.

Ok thanks. I'm not on reddit so I would most likely miss it. Probably better to wait for the official release then. For me at least.

It's running smoothly with no issues but I don't run floating windows, just message bubbles which I've always used. There are always enough announcements when to bail out of beta. I don't think it will get buggy where I would need to leave it.

Welp, I've come full circle. I got the P10PXL at launch and returned it because it would refuse to work with my Galaxy Watch Ultra. Bought and sold Oppo X9P, OnePlus 15. Currently have the S26U. Saw a P10PXL at Best Buy open box for $740, applied $25 rewards as well. Phone is pristine and looks unused, not even a micro-scratch on the screen. Couldn't resist for the price, one of those rare Best Buy open box gems. Been using it for 2 days, my Watch Ultra now syncs perfectly w/ the Pixel. Having BB Total membership also adds re-assurance.

I like the S26U but want more for $1300 and am just "meh" about the phone. Little issues such as poor fingerprint recognition despite multiple fingerprints / resets / tuning and screen protectors. Lack of unified visual voicemail within the Phone app. I still find battery life to not be great and use the phone in "light" performance mode. With the S25U this was fine, with the S26U I've seen little hitches and micro-stutters. Battery life has been better so far on the Pixel, but it's new and has far fewer apps so we'll see. And software updates, I like day 1 updates rather than waiting months for Android 17.

I love OneUI and all of its features. Luckily the Panels app on the Play store is really solid and I don't miss any features I have on the Edge panel of the S26U. I have been getting many spam calls as well for some reason, they have disappeared on the Pixel (for now). The only game I play is Retro Bowl so I don't care about Snapdragon vs Tensor. Have to say the haptics on the Pixel are the best, the keyboard really is excellent.

I think I'll be sending the S26U back to Amazon, I have 5 more days. I'm spoiled by iOS and live activities on the lock screen which I use all the time and really miss on Android. I like what I'm reading about Android 17 on the Pixel and hope that it'll finally utilize live activities (and force devs to implement it).

I'll be tempted by the upcoming Z Fold Wide and iPhone foldables for sure. But after my experience with some Chinese phones and S26U I've grown to appreciate the Pixel again. Thanks for reading!

I found that the now bar thing (I think that’s what it was called) on one ui was super useful once I got over the lock screen music player. Having said that I’ve a pixel 10 pro xl and an iPhone 17 pro max. I think the 17 pro max is better but there’s small quality of life things that drive me up the wall.

Having said that on the iPhone I can charge it in my gf’s vw Tiguan where as the pixel 10 pro xl won’t. I think the Magsnap/pixel safe magnets get in the way.

That app for the blood pressure on the galaxy watch looks interesting, but I wonder how long until Samsung blocks it, and I've found my Garmin Fenix 8 much better for health data and GPS, even if some of the smartwatch features are lacking, which isn't nessersairily a bad thing as I started to get notification overload.

There is now an app to enable the GWU Blood Pressure and ECG features for non-Samsung users if you're also interested.

Interesting, though I don't really use ECG features to begin with, it's nice to have. I've been using my GWU mainly as a watch.

On my Pixel I couldn't get the live sports scores to work for the life of me, tried all of the steps on various Pixel forums to no avail. Then all of a sudden 2 minutes ago the TOR vs. MIL (MLB) live activity popped up in my "at a glance" and always on display. No idea what happened 😂 and will chalk it up to "Pixel life". I've heard Android 17 beta brings some more consistency re: this, but it's been over 24 hours and my phone still won't receive the OTA update. I don't want to manually flash using the Android Flash Tool because I think it wipes the device when you select "flash all partitions". I don't have time for that nonsense and will wait for the OTA to push.

I also use a 17PM and switch back and forth. I've come to realize that the best combo for me is dual wielding an iPhone and Pixel to get the best of both worlds.

From memory if you are on a newer play services update than the beta then it won't update until the beta catches up.

Seems to be the case. Tried sideloading using ADB tools and got SPL error because the system detected the beta is older than my current version. I could do a factory reset and it should work, but I'll just wait it out.
