Google's Motorola division certainly isn't making any money off hardware...
No they have chosen to make money from suing from FRAND patents instead.

Apple will come out 1 year later: "Screw ya'll. We didn't make a watch, but smart contact lens instead"
iGrandfather ClockI'm waiting for Tim Cook to get onstage as they release a new, ground-breaking product with:
Anyone want a smart watch? *crickets* Didn't think so.
SUCKERS.
Introducing the new _________.
As one who has never worn a watch for most of his life and find watches at this point totally worthless and pretentious except for limited situations, I find this fervor for a smart watch battleground to be absurd and insane. I have no idea what the plan on doing to make this happen but I will be honest when I say I think apple , Samsung and google are all smoking crack.
----------
Part of me wonders if this isn't just a planned leak by apple to make others look silly.

Google & Samsung's definition of innovation: COPY APPLE.

Damn Technology is really kicking everyone else out of their field
so whats gonna happen to the real watch makers![]()

Another device to charge and worry about battery life.
That's all I think about when I hear about these stupid ideas
1) Who wears a watch anymore?
2) What's a watch?
3) What time is it, Siri?
But seriously, I'm hopping Apple's next big thing is something other than the iWatch, because I don't see that being a big breakout product no matter who dies it.
Maybe if it's a long wrist device that's the size of the iPhone 5's screen, I might be interested.

I call google glasses the google laughter because everyone I know makes fun of them.Smart Watches and Google Glasses are both non-starters IMHO.
The next markets for me are TV and automobiles.
Can you tell us whats been copied because as far as i know Apple havent made a smartwatch yet? unless you can copy vapuorware
all these companies jumping on the bandwagon in hopes they dont miss out on the next ipod craze.
I don't see the point of smart watch, I don't think people are interested in a watch that needs to be recharged everyday
Also, what kind of apps could the watch run? Only calendar, clock and music player? or we are going to see a 3.5" watch in the future?
my thoughts too which is why I said above, maybe it is tactics by Apple to steer the slavishly copying competition in a different direction while they tackle something more realistic. If you know your enemy's plays well you can play them at their own game!
Having said that, if someone were to make a Smart Watch popular and work seamlessly without hassles, it would be Apple.
whereas Apple's definition is to COPY SONY?!
(oh and Xerox ofc)
Another Tech History class drop-out.
There was a time when I'd sit here and hammer out a short paragraph explaining why you're completely wrong about Apple copying those things, and how saying they copied Xerox only reveals a lack of knowledge about early desktop computing history. Nowadays, I get a quick chuckle out of the willful misinformation some people indulge in and move on.
But if you're ever interested, the info is out there. Finding it and reading up costs you nothing except your ignorance.
so the steve jobs biography was wrong? or how about steve jobs?
Steve Jobs: we have always been shameless about stealing great ideas.
you sir are most chucklesome![]()
