My cards STILL haven't shown back up since I deleted them. It's been hours. I don't understand. I have them all turned on.

Not working on the iPad 2.

I tried asking a value of a stock and Google Search didn't even show me a card and a voice answer. Does it work on the iPad?

I've been playing with Google Now for an afternoon and all I seem to have is weather. I can't seem to get any more cards up. When I click 'more cards' I get a message saying: 'no more cards available try refreshing later.'

Any tips?

You dont have to use gps always on.

Thank you for the tip. I still think that the always-on feature should be opt-in instead of opt-out, like Google Maps app which asks if you want it to send "anonymous" usage data to Google. This is not only a privacy issue, but also a battery hog - especially when the battery life of the iPhone 5 is not that good at all.

The always on services are a bit of a bummer for battery life but I gotta admit, Google is designing much better apps than Apple is. Lets hope iOS7 gets Apple back now that Ive is the dude behind it

This thing shows that the sun is still out. Also has the wrong temperature for tomorrow compared to the weather channel and yahoo weather app. It's 10 degrees off.

I's already available. I think its called now now.

I got the jailbreak tweak NowNow that replaces Siri with Google Now Voice Search. I can't believe it's already out. This is awesome and really makes me hope for a day when an app like this can use my contacts and calendars so I can use Googlw Now to text ppl.

It doesn't look like anyone has mentioned turning off Location Reporting in the privacy settings of the app, but that helps with their paranoia over its use of location services.

This is a great app. It's no where near as useful as it is on Android, but that is to be expected since 3rd party apps are so neutered on iOS.

And all the spastics who uninstalled after a few minutes because the app is constantly using the GPS radio (it isn't) should try using it for a day before making such battery life judgements.

Actually, yes. Open the app, go to settings, then privacy. Turn location reporting off.

When you open the app, location is active. Close the app, wait like 10 seconds and location turns off.

Verified on my iPad and it works as stated.

Quoted for emphasis.

Stops the app's battery burn without shutting down its access to you location when the app is open.

LOL..Did the same, uninstalled it. May be i will look at my backups and install an older version without this NOW thing.

See above. Turn off location reporting in the Google app's settings.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this in 11 pages.

Google is probably not running GPS and all that constantly. They are most likely using "Significant Location Change" location services. This is normal and barely uses any battery life at all.

This has to be the case. My battery is within the same 5% range it is every night at this time and I've had the location icon on since I updated this morning. It is pretty obviously not running actual GPS which will eat battery.

I like everyone else freaked out a little when I saw the arrow stay on all day but it hasn't affected my battery any differently so I'll keep it around awhile longer.

Missing Cards Hours Later

I deleted some cards and can't add them back anyone else have this problem? I've turn location services on and then off, deleted the app, and restarted the phone. Still nothing happens.... HMMM I'm running out of ideas....

It looks nice and slick but when i search it allways comes up with "Unable to get results. Please check your network conection"

Now network conection is fine as everything else that relies on the internet is working fine. Makes no difference if on wifi or 3G! Is anyone else experiencing this?

The always on location service usage in the background (even long after the app is closed) is unacceptable.

Absolutely correct. Because of the always on location services icon my phone will no longer last a full day.
I deleted Google + for the very same reason - And I will delete Google search because of it

Of course it does, that's how it works. I keep Google Now on 24/7 on my Nexus 4 and get 1.5 days of battery life with it active. It's a nice thing to have.

Yeah, that's pretty funny. Anyone complaining about the usage of location services clearly doesn't actually understand what Google Now is or how it functions.

Or you could just disable the "location services always on" option under settings if you still want to use the app and are worried about battery drainage due to that function.

From the app info in iTunes:

Learn more about location
To provide up-to-the-minute information, Google Now turns on Location Services. Even though the icon stays on, the app has minimal battery impact:

• The app doesn’t turn on the GPS. Instead, it receives passive updates from nearby cell towers and WIFI hot spots.
• If your battery is running low, the app pauses location updates.
• The app stays asleep unless your device moves a long distance.

If you see an impact on your battery life, please tell us about it by tapping feedback in the app settings. You can also turn this feature on and off as you like in the privacy section of the app settings. Learn more at http://goo.gl/9GKI2

they will come back tomorrow. Don't swipe away cards you want to see

Battery hog

Installed. 10% battery in 10 minutes. Uninstalled.

Instaaled. Turned off location services in privacy setup of the app. Location icon disappeared. However, battery did not last a day, even when the app is NOT running in the background.

Uninstalling seems to be the only solution.

What an invading app....Google usually does better than this. Fail!

You know, you can actually turn Google Now off in the settings. Not sure why you would need to uninstall it.

Google and apple should just merge and collaborate together to make a phone. Imagine apple's hardware married with google's software...

Am I the only one who feels that google's apps look more sleek and impressive than apple's own?
