That is true, but look at the other cheap shot. "No camera hump" yeah that's easy to achieve on a phone that's 1,5mm thicker than the iPhone! Personally I'd prefer my iPhone to be a little thicker in order to get rid of the hump, but the jab from google just wasn't justified.

Based on your thoughts - it kinda was though, right? It's a pain point. Google addressed it. I agree - I have long been "against" the thinning of phones. I find some models now (Apple and others) too thin.

People are used to splash out for Apple products. I am not really sure it's the same for Google products...

I would feel so embarrassed pulling out a Google phone out of my pocket in public. I dunno, pulling out an iPhone just feels so cool. Hard to explain this psychological phenomenon.

With a Google product, you feel yourself like a second-class citizen that lives in a third-world country. Whereas Apple products feel luxurious, it's like owning a Porsche, or like living in Switzerland or Monaco.

Google products feel like a smelly garbage that rots under your window.

You need a phone to make yourself feel relevant in your life??

SmartBurst. That's innovation.

Google steals from Apple, Apple steals from Google. Its what makes the world go round.

Google keeps trying to make hardware and they keep mostly failing. Poor Motorola.

Well let's not pretend that Apple (and Samsung) don't tout their versions of "innovation" as new and spectacular even though that technology has existed before.

They should have called them the still-born instead of Pixel. And this is coming from a dual Android/iOS user. Too expensive.

-.- Of course google can offer that to a phone that will only have in the 10s of millions in operation. The data for 100s of millions of iOS devices is much more substantial. That's like going to a cafe and getting a free coffee in a town of 2000 people and expecting the same treatment at a Starbucks in Manhattan. You just wouldn't expect that.

True from a logistics point of view. Totally irrelevant from a consumers point of view. As I said above, those Google commercials about the "Storage Full" error while taking photos really resonates. This coming holiday shopping season, consumers will be asking questions about photo storage, how to best archive photos and display them to family, and wondering why Apple's packaged solution is so lacking (only 5GB included, and no cross-platform app that allows our green-robot brothers and sisters see the photos and add to the albums).

I will still buy Apple, but it is getting increasingly difficult to explain to less tech-savvy family members and friends why that is still the best choice long term.

A processor that destroys everything on the market, 2 cameras that are fully integrated and create the most gorgeous pictures I've ever taken with a cell phone, water resistance that actually works, 3d touch (which I use constantly). I'd say they're doing quite a few things different.

Agreed. All Android users tout their "exceptional hardware" until you call them out on it. Then it's "Oh, uh, I don't pay attention to those things."

Even the ***** wall paper on the phone is copied from Apple. Lets be honest here, Google cannot innovate - they can only copy. Google music - Apple Music, Google home - Amazon Echo, Chromecast - Apple TV, Google WIFI, Apple Airport. Android - iOS. They have 1 good original thing - search - that is it!

Why so bitter?

Google Chromecast is a bit meh, prefer Amazons Fire TV solution, likewise with this Google Home, prefer Amazons Echo range of devices. We don't get the new WiFi routers in the UK so who cares... will be very interested to see how the new phones perform though, but to me I feel the Nexus idea was better? I still have my Nexus 5, it's a bit beaten but still works, and for a device that cost as much as it did it's brilliant!
These new phones seem to be trying to hard to match Apple? I'm sure their will be plenty of comparisons but they will also be competing with all other Android flagships which just seems weird?

I also think the designs are a little dull? Guess they will feel nice in the hand though?

This is not a dig at you but the quote itself is the most overused bunch of crap. Competition is good when there IS competition. Does anyone look at this Google phone and think "wow Apple must be scared"? If anything, atleast Samsung tries new things and attempts to push the market forward. This phone isnt making Apple do anything different.

This phone is less about the hardware but how the software works on it. Google is pushing forward hard with AI. I can understand why this thread is going the way it is. The presentation must be viewed to understand where Google is going.

That's your reason for buying an iPhone...?
I guess isheep do exist.

As someone whos used Android the last few years I think they missed the mark with this phone. For the price I'd wait for the galaxy S8 or just go back to an iPhone.

That's more of a psychological issue you have there.

You seriously need to re-evaluate your life if you feel 'cool' taking an iPhone out of your pocket! All you are displaying is a mind that's completely been sucked in by Apple marketing.
