Got a PS3 for xmas but want a 360

I think you will find the Gaming section has a rather bad public image and it has at times lived up to that bad image.

MacNut decided to ask a question in this section, he does not need to justify asking a question or starting a thread. He is not responsible for the juvenile behavior of some of the posters in this section, pure and simple. Their actions and posts are their responsibility.

The fact that some posters saw an opportunity to start the usual 'nonsense' that has given this section a generally bad reputation is not the OP's fault.

We are all responsible for our own actions.

The fact that MacNut chooses not to post in this section that often will now seem to be fitting, given the responses he has received and the accusations thrown at him.

We need to make this section a warm and welcoming section, with mature discussion and less of this pathetic bickering that goes on. Then and only then will it be seen as a worthwhile section within the mac community forum.

The Xbox 360 has a more powerful GPU, and the Cell doesn't outstrip the Xenon core by that much.

Eh, I think you are kind of right. Although the Cell does have more than twice the number of cores of the Xenon running at the same clock speed, the two systems are more or less the same when it comes to todays games. But I have a feeling that while the 360 is the best system now, it will run into some roadblocks in a few years in some areas like storage on the DVDs, and raw processing power for more advanced games that will come to light in the next couple of years.

I really don't see a problem in this thread....we are here for a discussion and help...this is what the topic was created for.

The gaming section has been going well for the past months.....with a few threads that carry on for too long but I don't see a need to get into all of this.

What is really expected with a topic like this....we will disagree with our views but this is what we do here...we dicuss and try to help each other out and sometimes we get out of hand(Most all of us) with our post but it isn't that bad to draw attention to it.

I believe this section is doing very well for itself now and I don't want to be mean about it but I think we should lighten up a bit and stop taking these things too serious.

But I know from experience from other sections what the general view of the gaming section is, hence that is why I don't want to see people attacking a poster, whether they are newbies or long term members.

You are right the forum has been doing better lately, and I want to see it stay like that for the betterment of all.

My post wasn't on a level to "spar" with the op...it was just his comment was amusing to me nothing to take in too heavy....well I retracted it before it was read wrong but your eyes are fast


We all get out of hand every now an again(I've seen you MRU) but it isn't anything serious like how it was several months ago....I think thats the past and we should move on and try to be productive.

Yeah, too bad there's too much anti anything but Nintendo by a raving majority here who always like to stick their noses in topics that have nothing to do with Nintendo whatsoever. You guys leave it to yourselves to try and figure out who; anyone who's been here longer than a week can figure that one out.

I'm with several of you...I just don't bother here anymore. Hopefully someday things will change, but I highly doubt it will happen anytime soon. Oh well...sad, really. Actually it's a wide-spread problem, not that my router is a piece of ****. Not to mention I had it connected directly to the modem and it still wouldn't connect. Perhaps if you READ my post you'd have noticed that.

And just so you can be a little more informed the next time you decide to retort:

Was working for me the whole time. I have been a member of Xbox live for 5 years and I can count on my hand the number of time it was down. Most of thoses time were announcement maintenance window.. I say that is a pretty darn good.

oh btw, I do have a PS3 and a Wii at home.

I've had no problems with my PS3, Wii, or Xbox 360 with my Airport Extreme router, but there are people who have problems, and those could be from any number of factors.
