Picked up a Samsung Chromebook Plus few days ago. Build quality is superb, screen is razor sharp and I'm really happy they're using usbc. Battery life as expected is also really good. Im replacing an older Samsung Chromebook I got two years ago. Now I know a chromebook is not for everyone but just like me there are a lot of people this is all they'll need. I type documents, surf, email, watch YouTube/Netflix, listen to music and mess with my photos. Im sure I'm missing some but that's main uses.

Also the availability of using apps via Google Play is very nice addition.

Overall I'm very happy with the product and if anyone has any specific questions I can try to answer them.

My daughter-in-law uses a Chromebook and loves it. But when she needs to access her genealogy program she gets on my son's iMac. I think they're great if all you need to use it for is what you described. I believe Sam's Club currently has some on sale.

Yea, if you rely heavily on specific software check ahead of time to see if there is a web version or Google Play compatible app.

Will Microsoft Office apps work on Chromebook? What about Adobe apps?

I had one and it was great but the one complaint I had was the left click. Quit often when I would click a link ect it would not register and I would have to do it again, this was very annoying

If you have a Office 365 subscription you can use the web apps. I find Google docs etc to work for myself though.

Some of the chromebooks including my old Samsung the trackpad was pretty bad. This new one is pretty good however.

The one issue I was complaining about, I figured maybe next gen would have it sorted out. I got it cheap as well, I bought it off craigslist for $250. For my uses, a Chromebook is all I need and this one is really awesome. I think for most people a Chromebook is all they need.

Oh and I forgot about my other big complaint, no back lit keyboard!

Wow, you got it for an amazing price. How much did you wind up selling it for?

Definitely agree that the backlit keyboard would be a great addition. With that said I can understand considering the price point though.

How about that Asus Chromebook? How does that compare to the Samsung one?
Played with the high end Asus Chromebook in store. It has some pluses. Things like usbc and regular size usb, good build etc. I went with Samsung mainly on the better reviews, pen accessory built in and much nicer screen.

Totally agree! I'm ok with it not being a rocket ship because of the capability. USBC, built In keyboard, stylus although basic is free and now they're adding Google Play App support also. Great machine!

I picked up another one of these off craigslist for 190 and have been using it for the past week, this thing is great. I could legit use this as my main computer.
