Okay so Reachability is like my FAVOURITE feature on my iPhone,I am like totally addicted and also perplexed as to how no Android OEM never got this right, most of them like Samsung have this feature where you drag and the screen shifts to one side or the other and becomes a smaller version of what you had.

Reachability seems to be a more practical version of this. It’s little features like this that Apple blow me away with, I can get a tad frustrated with some of their decisions and then BOOOM I find something else that someone at Apple CLEARLY thought through before implementation. I feel as though the person clearly sat and had a picture of me in their head using my phone and they were like “How can we make Tsepz really enjoy using his phablet?” And then it came to him “Bingo!” And Reachability was born

How are people still complaining about stretching their thumbs on an iPhone XS Max , when this feature exists!?

That makes a lot of sense, you must have got a great deal on the X considering your timing around the purchase .

I was looking at my mother’s iPhone X, and thought to myself that besides the size, these phones don’t feel like they differ much. I feel like I am going to have my XS Max for quite a long time, maybe until the next redesign. I don’t thing the XI will be much different, but I could be wrong.

Just one question. Why wouldn’t you want to upgrade to the 11 Max in September? Lack of 3D Touch? The camera bump?

Lack of any major feature coming.

Not bothered about 3D Touch going and the camera bump looks fine to me. My next iPhone must have 5G though, a next gen chip (5nm or less) and a new design. I believe this will happen with the 2020 iPhones.

What kind of SOT do you get from 100% to 50% battery currently?

Reason I’m skipping this years phone is lack of 3D Touch myself. I use for basic daily tasks all the time and use it for gaming very frequently

That’s why it’s encouraging to read that long term ownership of the xs max for the most part is coming back positive

better screen tech, better speakers, better camera and sustained 60fps gaming still make this a solid step up for many people. Coming from an 8 plus myself and would certainly enjoy a nice spec bump without losing things like 3D Touch that I’ve enjoyed since the 6s plus

It’s an absolutely lovely device to use, much like your 8 Plus, it never feels like it’s underpowered, sometimes I feel as though these things have ore power than they will ever need, it is just so smooth and fast.

My battery life continues to be great.

The best part though is looking at the this gorgeous display every time I pick it up and unlock it, it is absolutely stunning.

Yup, I’m always jealous of my wife’s note 8 screen. Very bright and very nice colours, so would be nice to have a screen more on par with hers. Even when playing pubg, she always sees things further out that don’t show on mine at all lol.

Edit: excuse the quality of the pic above, was taken with my old iPad Air 2 too lazy to go upstairs and fetch the P30 Pro.

Yeah, I usually don’t screen protectors, but this time decided I need to protective my phone as I do have a habit of getting micro-scratches and deeper scratches a few months down the line of owning a phone.

I once dropped my phone on the floor in the drivers seat in my car, it landed screen first, I did not know it was there until I braked and felt it hit my foot, it slid down the drivers footwell screen first and there was some sand in my footwell as I had walked through some gravel. Picked the phone up and found multiple deep scratches on the screen

I don’t want my XS Max to go through that

I only buy 3D tempered screen protectors. They cover the entire screen and look like I don’t have one on. I love that majority of them come with the plastic piece to help you fit them on.

Indeed! The guy at the shop applied mine for me, and simply charged me the price of the screen protector on the sticker.

Can barely see it.

T-Mobile had fit a PureGear screen protector on my XS Max when I purchased it. Whenever the screen protector need to be replaced, I just back to them and they will fit another one free of charge.

I also love using reachability but sometimes if I hold my finger for too long (and I'm talking 0.2 seconds too long), I end up either opening an app or pressing something inside the app. It's tricky to get it perfect.

I just can't get past how good the screen feels without the screen protector. I'm UBER careful with this precision piece of machinery, keeping in mind the sacrifice I made paying upfront.

It took me a long time to come around on cases. It wasn't until iPhone 6 that I started using cases. I've tried to give screen protectors a chance but it just isn't the same. My Xs Max is currently in an Otterbox Defender.

As Flossy Carter would say "Feels So Good in the Hands... Ladies You Know the Procedures" LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO! I tried going one day without a screen protector and I was so paranoid about dropping my phone getting in and out of the mail truck. If I don’t have to deliver mail anymore, I’ll give it another go.

I knew there was something more to you. My ex is a Mail Carrier as well. You guys aren't thanked enough for what you do, so allow me... THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!

In your case MOST DEFINITELY you need a screen protector, no questions asked, lol!!! I'm at a desk all day, so I don't have the same challenges. We do what works for us right!? ;-)

Thank you. It’s not an easy job but the money more than makes up for it. Yes we all have to do what works for us. I do miss my desk job at times, especially during this heat wave. I do have to thank walking for my 20 pound weight loss.

All in all I love my XS Max and I can’t see myself using a different device for another year. This year’s rumors aren’t enough for me to upgrade. Next year for sure. Plus this year I plan to buy my daughter this year’s XR upgrade.

Looks good, enjoy the screen protector.

Colours on the display look a bit washed out, you should increase the saturation on the display.

Thanks!

I think it’s the iPad camera that washed them out, my display tends to have a warm look to it as I have Night Shift constantly On.

Oh nooo, night shift and true tone never come on on my phone. I want that crisp crisp, at all times, lol.
