IMO, the iFrogz stuff is beyond hideous. It is seriously the ugliest case I may have seen for the iPhone, ever.

I couldn't disagree with you more. It's the only case I've found since buying my first iPhone in Feb of last year that has been good enough to be used on one of them.

But to each their own, of course.

Update:
I cut out a very small portion of my SGP anti-fingerprint film on the lower edges of the iPhone to avoid the bubbles and now it looks perfectly fine!

i can't decide what to take, the red or the orange one :{ :S

they both look so great!!

here's the pink (ignore the dog hair in the pic!)

well.....

Update:

I botched the SGP anti-fingerprint film so I'm now on a casemate. But even though I have it on perfectly I have bubble top right that isn't going away.
Then when I switch from a cozip to the iFrogz, I get two more bubbles, small but they are there on both bottom corners.

Casemate used to be perfect for the 2g and 3g. It seems like it's not quite small enough now on the 3gs. I will exchange and then see if cutting a small bit may be necessary.

Definitely like the iFrogz case more than I thought. One guy said he's moving from the Innocase and that's more than double the price.

awaiting....

the order from ebay for the red iRibbit too. Have no idea how good it'll be but it's a popular item. I've seen websites selling this type with the same back rear button all over the place.

But the ebay one is cheap for $3 and it will get here sometime this week from Hong Kong looks like.

oops....

Have used the case just a few times and today noticed the tab is broken now on one side.

So it has to go back now for a replacement. Be very, very careful as these tabs are easy to misalign and go kaput.

Luckily the iRibbit via Ebay (and Hong Kong) just came. Very similar and the differences:

1. the plastic on top (colored portion) is a harder polymer. Grip is fine but not as marshmellowy soft as iFrogz.
2. the angle of the tabs ironically go in easier than the iFrogz
3. the button is pretty tight and is harder to break apart or take apart. Pressed a metal tool on the button and bingo, opens.
4. overall tolerances are a bit different. Actually the fit is tighter overall on the iRibbit (ebay $3 version).
5. no felt on the bottom. Doubt this will be an issue.
6. camera hole looks slightly off but there is no blocked view on shooting
7. it feels somewhat more rigid overall. In comparison, it's definitely a harder plastic.
8. the button on the back does have some engagement. To release the iFrogz, the button seemed superfluous.

So for now the $3 iRibbit is in the top position until at least the iFrogz replacement comes. And the cozip in blue is #2.

Just ordered the red.

Go SC Gamecocks! :D

I'm headed to USC next year as a freshman, what year are you?

And I just got a blue and green case from buy.com (took almost 2 weeks!). I absolutely love it. The blue looks awesome, it's everything a case should be. It slides so easily it's not even funny, no way it'll scratch my phone like the Incase Slider did. Looking at the back of the phone actually makes people interested in it, a plain black bezel doesn't really attract much anymore. And my dad loves the green, he dropped it the day on concrete after I gave it to him and there's no scratch on the case! Best decision I ever made. Now my mom is getting a red case for herself. I plan on using this case for a long time to come.

I've had the same bubbling issue with my iFrogz as well (this was with my Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint - I've since removed the Steinheil anyway though because it was way too blurry). I have PS Crystal screen shields coming tomorrow so I'll see if I have the same problem with those. In the meantime, I have my Innocase back on and I know I won't have any bubbling issue with that case.

okay....

let us know how the ps works with the innocase. When I was in Ratshack I tried an innocase and put it on my iphone 3gs. It immediately picked up the Steinheil anti-fingerprint and started bubbling on both bottom corners.

The sales guy in the store wanted to try to help but I told him not to worry about it as I had some Steinheil coming in the mail. Landed up not buying the Innocase and getting the ifrogz and iribbit (via ebay).

Yup I've got those too and I did this:

Well I got my PS Crystals today and put one on my 3GS - no bubbling issue whatsoever with the Innocase. The key is to make sure that no part of the screen protector is hanging off the edge of the screen. As long as the screen protector is totally flat on the screen with no overhanging edges, it won't be a problem with the Innocase. I wish I could say the same with the iFrogz Luxe though - I get the bubbles in the bottom corners every time. I don't see any way to avoid the problem other than cutting the screen protector or just going without a screen protector altogether. I'm not interested in either scenario so I'm probably going to just stick with the Innocase.

It doesn't look like it, but is there any protection if you drop it on the iPhones face?

No. You can obviously use a screen protector as well but that's not necessarily going to keep the screen from shattering. A screen protector should prevent scratches but don't count on it to do much more than that. If you need total protection, look at an Otterbox Defender or something.

Indeed

Just ordered another iRibbit off ebay in orange for $3. I like the one in red a lot. It's much harder to take apart but it's also heavier and stronger so it feels even more solid.

Since I have to mail back the blue iFrogz, will probably see the orange one from Hong Kong first. Think the harder polymer would take a fall even better. That stronger lip around the bezel can't hurt either.

are these cheap ebay ones worth it? is it just an unbranded ifrogz? do they come with screen protectors?
