Walked into the Costo in Auburn Hills, MI and they had a display right inside the front door. Bought the 32GB for $279.99

Plugged it in and it appears that you have to activate it in iTunes, which I can't do until tonight as iTunes is not permitted on our work computers.

Well in california sales tax is 9% so 9% of 280 is $25. Cheaper if you buy it through Amazon.

Costco would be so convenient if it weren't for pesky sales tax . . . I guess I'll wait on Amazon. Sometimes I hate being a penny pincher.

Don't forget Costco's easy 90 day return policy in case you're not happy. That's worth the tax.

I was at Costco on the weekend and here in Canada they had the 32GB 3rd Gens for sale at $275. Most places in Canada sell them for $300.

Now that I see the prices for the 4th Gen are higher than the 3rd Gen models I'm wondering what price Costco will sell the 4th Gen for. I thought maybe they dropped the price to clear their stock of 3rd Gens.

Did they have ample supply, or did it seem limited? I might make the trip today since Costco's return policy is amazing.

I wonder if this is the same with other warehouse clubs. Sam's is only a few min away as opposed to Costco which is a longer drive.

Well, definitely a great deal if your local club has em, might as well pick up some itunes cards while you're there and save a few more bucks as well.

Thanks OP. Was about to go to the Apple store and saw this thread. Local Costco had a dozen of the model I wanted (32 touch). $279.

If you buy with AmEx, it doubles the manufacturer's warranty. Costco only accepts AmEx

Enjoy your purchase! I just bought my new 32GB from a local Apple Store. Just plugged it in and can't wait to give it a go.

Damn, I always forget to check costco first. Spent an extra $20 & tax for the ipod (and apparently their gift cards are cheaper as well) and already sent it off to my girlfriend.

    Boo.

Not sure what the pricing is for the gift cards in the US but at my local store in Canada they charge $55.99 for a bundle of 4 $15 dollar cards. So I guess you save $4 which is better than paying $4 more somewhere else. ;)
