Apple's "rose gold" is rose gold like their "gold" is gold.

It's not. It's champagne.

But they did call it champagne gold but here we have a baby pink phone they are trying to pass off as rose gold. That is the crux of it. Apple lied to us and only the fan boys and girls are clapping their hands because they will buy anything Apley churns out whatever they call it.

Where did they call it champagne gold?

Did you actually buy a Rose Gold iPhone without looking at the pictures? Those pictures were floating for a while, especially here in MR. If you seriously feel "lied to", then don't buy it. Walk away knowing that they lied about their color to you. You have that power. In all honesty, Apple still made theirs. As a shareholder, that's all that simply matters. For those who bought them knowingly how it looks, they're happy too.

How did they lie to you? You saw the same pictures as everyone else all over and the Keynote event. Did you miss the pink phone? Rose - Pink - Gold. It's a pink phone. Call it anything else but it's still pink.

There was no lying. You have eyeballs just like everyone else here (excuse me to those that are really blind, no offense).

People like the ones in this topic are the ones bringing down society and making it ******.

It's perfectly fine that you have that opinion. I don't understand it at all, but you're welcome to have any opinion you want. I prefer an open-minded society to a close-minded one. Guys can carry rose gold iPhones and Bruce Jenner can be a woman. These things don't affect me and I don't care. You obviously don't feel the same way. I don't think we'll come to an understanding and that's fine.

Let me ask you a question. If you're a guy, would you happily rock the following:

Just because a guy feels uncomfortable with that shade of pink, which is clearly on the feminine side, doesn't mean he's insecure.

You seem to have this notion that all the guys out there saying otherwise really do secretly feel that pink is feminine, you just have to get them to admit it. It's fine to not like pink, it's fine to like it in some things and not others, but you keep insisting a guy can't like a pink phone or a pink watch because it *has* to be feminine. I guess you feel like you *have* to stand up for arbitrary gender restrictions, because well... why? I shake my head that the people most likely to tell men and boys what they can't do (like pink, play with Barbies, like a "girl's" tv show, be a nurse, etc.) are men.

I agree that it's definitely pink. Had it turned out to be a real rose gold, I might have regretted not choosing it over the gold, but as it is, I'm glad I believed the official photos that (imo) also showed it to be pink. Unlike the salmon pink Sport Watch Band, it's actually a reasonably attractive pink, but soft pink sends a message about who I am that is not quite my style. I'm a woman in a male-dominated field. If I was a man, I don't think I'd worry about it, but as a woman, I don't want to reinforce any gender-based preconceptions people might have about me.

That's right. More men should be using pink.

How fast should you notify UPS to hold at hub or UPS Store to ensure you can grab it Friday morning?

Is it the moment you see it ship or is there a certain time frame to watch for. I won't be home at all on Friday so hoping to pick it up somewhere.

Once you have a tracking number, you can place your hold.

Decided to switch to space gray. This "rose gold" just isn't my cup of tea and def won't keep it for a year. Those who ordered this color, great! Glad we have choices. :)

That's not what I said at all in this thread. I wrote while many guys would feel comfortable rocking a pink iPhone 5c (which is actually salmon in color) or even hot pink accessories, these same guys would most likely feel uncomfortable rocking the following:

It's not the color per se that makes it feminine. While a pale pink shirt would look just fine on a guy, pale pink accessories/jewelry look rather feminine on a guy. It all depends on the application.

The phone is not soft baby pink. It's a metallic peach color that skews pink under some lighting/angles. It's not exactly rose gold, but it's certainly in the same family. They didn't lie. Why don't you just change your order?

They never called it champagne gold. The official name for the gold iPhone 5s was "White and Gold iPhone 5s" and the official name for the gold iPhone 6 series is "Gold iPhone 6…"

Grumble grumble...liberals won't take my guns...grumble grumble...make America great again...grumble grumble...politically correct...garrrr

all i said was "in my opinion" i don't want my electronics to be pink and i got attacked.

how about people be open minded that others may not carry the same opinion as themselves?

it's fine if you want to have a pink phone, but i don't like it. i will glady wear a pink shirt, but keep that colour away from me for any electronics.

i said "TO ME". i don't know if i have to bold it and make the font huge so she can see..

that's fine.

you have your opinion and others have theirs.

pink on an electronic, to me, is feminine.

Color. Has. No. Gender.

Any association you make with color and gender is unfounded, completely irrelevant, and narrow-minded. It reeks of shallow insecurity, deeply ingrained fear of what others think of you, and desperate need for other's approval.

Grow up. It's 2015, not 1950.

That's an opinion not a fact. I have no problem with you not liking pink in your accessories/jewelry, but you keep insisting that other people have to have the same opinion. Not to mention that if a man feels something is feminine and still chooses to wear it, something must be wrong with him, that he's not a "real" man.

There's a huge long list of things I've heard people (usually men) insist that other men not do because it is "feminine", or "for women", or "only women do that":
  • Yoga
  • Drink sweet/fruity drinks
  • Carry a bag ("murse")
  • Drink rosé wine
  • Drink wine coolers
  • Drink wine at all ("real men drink beer")
  • Cross their legs one knee over the other ("ankle over knee only")
  • Teach elementary school
  • Use a baby sling/strap on baby carrier
And that's only a start. Do any of these look ridiculous to you? Then perhaps you might understand that your stating that pale pink accessories/jewelry are only for women looks ridiculous to a lot of other people. They are all artificial gender restrictions. Would you like living in a box that arbitrarily small?

Why don't you refrain from putting words in my mouth? I never stated it as a fact. It is my observation that many guys do not wear pale pink accessories/jewelry, even though they're comfortable wearing pink clothes, etc.
