I did OTA update to ios12. In my case, a reset of. Privacy and Location fixed the GPS issue.

Posted this in the beta 1 thread too.

Despite restoring from iTunes with the ipsw downloaded from my Dev acct and resetting location and privacy the GPS is still out on Runkeeper.

I’ve blanked out some bits for privacy. The Suunto is correct.

I've been using the beta since the keynote and I've had days where the GPS works flawlessly and days where it sucks monkeythingies. The app doesn't really matter. Runkeeper, Apple Maps, Waze, Pokémon GO, ...

Haven't reset anything, going to try.

My iPhone X sometimes has working GPS and sometimes not, the same in all apps. My iPad Pro 10.5" seems to work all the time.

I reset privacy and locations. Didn’t seem to work. Reset networking didn’t seem to work when I turned off wifi. As soon as I turned on wifi, not connected to any wifi networks bang my gps is pretty accurate.

Anyone else notice this?

Yes I’ve tried that too. Think it will just have to wait for beta 2 to fix (hopefully).

Google maps seems to be fine for me. It’s just Runkeeper. But I have Suunto and Garmin watches which both have built in GPS so not overly bothered at the moment.

Unfortunately my run was way off with the Apple Watch workout app. Going to try again with wifi on tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.

I am having major issues with GPS in Maps and I keep losing my ability to call people (until I do a restart). Will try resetting location and privacy and then network settings to see if this helps. I am away from my Mac right now so I will have to wait til Thursday to try an iTunes restore if the other things don't fix it. Given the nature of the issues, I'd say this is a radio problem (ok, ok, I probably get a "Thank you, Captain Obvious" for that one!)

After resetting networking and privacy and WiFi on I could get gps to work. If I turned WiFi off I was out of luck with gps.

BUT I went for a walk selected walking workout ended my walk after 16 minutes to find that there was NO map at all in my activity app on the phone. :(

Then that wasn't your GPS working, it was using wifi to approximate your location... mine's broken, and I notice that after a while, it does a rough job of showing where I am (without telling me that GPS is out).

I must say that it seems to get better every day (without tinkering with the settings). This morning it took 5-10 minutes to "connect" to the GPS and then it worked fine.

Location on my 6S seems OK, TomTom GO & Maps both navigate fine. However I'm not seeing a map in the Activity app after a run with either phone paired GPS, or purely on my Apple Watch 3 (still on 4.3.2) with phone Wifi/Bluetooth disabled. Anyone else see the same issue?

Yep! Tried three different apps now (strava, apples own and Nike run club) all have the same issue of not recording a map.

That’s what happened to me too. When I went for my run this morning, the watch asked if I wanted location services on for my run. (I left wifi on even thou I wasn’t connected to any wifi network.) No and be hold my run was recorded correctly. A few . . . . On the right route. But I can live with this until beta 2 comes out.

Likewise. I've discovered that waiting it out is often the trick. Just put it on and wait until it gets gps. It should do eventually.

Sometimes it works fine, but then it'll start bugging. When playing Pokemon Go, it'll work fine but suddenly it will stop tracking my location for a while, or it will track my location, but it will be like 50 meters off. It's annoying when you want to do a raid and it shows you are far from the gym even though you are right next to it.

Wahoo Elemnt app works on my X, that records the map fine, if you cycle and have a Wahoo Elemnt Mini that is. Not tried the actual Strava app yet as I use the version on my Apple Watch 2 for tracking my rides.

Yes, I have exactly the same issue. Also, certain workouts are not syncing over to the Health app - for example, I did an indoor row and weights session at the gym yesterday which was recorded on the watch, and the movement associated with them was reflected in the 'rings' on AW, but not reflected in the total active calories section of the Health App... as such, the watch said I had burnt 1500 active calories in the day, but the health app said 1000.

I'm guessing this could be resolved in the next update!

Hopefully everyone is reporting these issues in the Beta feedback app, and not just writing about there here in the forum

I also have GPS issues. OTA install, iPhone X. I haven't tried resetting network settings or installing from IPSW, but I don't want to since they sound like they don't work despite a handful of people saying it does. I'm waiting for beta 2.

If I had known about this issue beforehand, I still would've installed 12b1. It's great.

I did clean install this morning. My gps performance was definitely better but still had some hiccups.

My iPhone X has had the least accurate GPS of any iPhone previously.
