I have no idea if it was open or not. I was messing around with the latch (showing someone how it worked) after I took the picture, so it is no longer something I can go back to. ...just in case you are worried, the latch is definitely closed now.;)

Great pic!..Showcases the case in all it's glory!:)

I think Graft will have a winner here when we get to the 2nd and 3rd editions.
The case looks really, really cool and just needs some tweaking. I would like to see the hinge joint flipped around and be inside the frame of the case itself instead of protruding. Plus they could make it more robust concidering people will want to take the case off and put it back on again because the lever makes it so easy. I rarely change cases since I've gotten my vapor pro a few months ago because I don't want to wreck the threads.

First off I really like the case and hope it lasts in good condition for a long time. Although, I never would have bought it had I known it would scratch the top of the band.

The one thing I have learned from this is you can't rely upon so called professional web site reviews. The sites that reviewed this case were either not honest or they did a review after having the case on their device without any real testing. Leads me to believe there must be some incentive to a positive review.

Maybe I misread or misunderstood, but didn't a review site owner / employee post in this thread defending the case and even offending the first guy to discover the scratching by saying he obviously doesn't know how to close the clasp properly? That's a site not worth visiting again.

Was extremely happy to get the case, but I too am disappointed.

Apart from the scratching, I've noticed the case has slightly discolored the phone... Also find it a bit hard to press the volume buttons.

IDK if I should keep it, going to contact Graft and see if there's anything they can do.

How did it discolour the phone ? What colour case and phone have you ?

How can the case discolor the phone?? I highly doubt it was the case.

Just took off the case to see if had made any damage and well...

Quite ironic that the case that is supposed to protect the phone from scratches ends up making the scratches...

I agree wholeheartedly. Then he proceeds to insult people that question the material used to make this case, which makes no sense since he's here basically promoting his website.

I hope they will issue something to ALL customers about the problems with the existing case, because I do quite like it and would consider simply swapping the one I got for the new model INSTEAD of returning it for my money back if it means they made a physical adjustment to it instead of say, factory installing a piece of plastic film over the latch (which anyone can do).

White iPhone 4s with black case. Can see slight discoloration on the sides.

I have the same white iphone and black case and have seen no discoloration. It's not possible for the plastic to rub off on the metal or plastic to cause discoloration.

It's a shame to hear all the problems with the Leverage. It was on my short list of cases to get, but now I may have to wait.

I didn't read through it in the previous posts, but does anyone know how it fits with something like Lucky Labs' Spectra Wrap?

I am still on the fence, Graft said I have 30 days since I purchased to return.
I like the case but the scuff it created because of the latch and the quality of the same is a concern.
I wished they could be upfront and send updates on what they are planning in doing.
They are actually saying on Facebook that they have a new batch coming at some point soon and a possible revised case that might fix the scuff issue. If that's the case I would like to have mine exchanged for the new batch if indeed fix the issue.

Any consensus about this case?

Got my case sooner than expected. Still haven't received my phone yet though. I've been contemplating returning it even before it came because of the comments in this thread.

It does feel a flimsy but I haven't put it on a phone. I am also concerned about the scratches some of you have seen. I would agree in general this does not seem like a $60 case. I might feel better about keeping it as an extra if it were $30-40. I am looking for a case that I can take on and off easily.

Any consensus out there from people who have actually used this case?

That scratch looks worse than what the bumper did to my previous 4. It's a cool concept but definitely needs to include a free lucky labs decal set to protect the band.

Just looked at the scratch again. I'm really leaning toward sending this thing back. I agree with you about the irony of the case causing a scratch. Thanks for posting such a clear picture.

Does anyone know if putting a piece of tape under the latch has prevented a scuff/scratch?

Curious if anyone with the black case has seen chipping occur. Hoping the replacement black case works fine. Now that there's already a scratch there, not much point in worrying about another one there.

So I've had mine for a couple days now (white/matte) and I'm honestly not seeing any chipping at all. Slight discoloration yes, but definitely no chipping. Maybe I'm just not roughing it up enough.

If by roughing it up you mean taking it in and out of a soft dress pant pocket then I have been beating the **** out of this case. I am always very careful where I place my phone in a case or naked. The white case is defective and will eventually start to chip for you, sorry.

Dropped it

Well,

i had my case for 3 days. Yesterday while getting out of the car with groceries I dropped my phone. the case landed on the concrete with one corner taking most of the impact. Now there is a chunk taken out with a few scuffs on the bottom right corner :(

I know I know, it did its job and protected the phone. But now I'm bummed its all scuffed up! I have been through many cases in the past year and a half, and when I spend 60 bucks on "the one" I end up messing it up. Back to the Apple bumper for me....
