But the problem will not be reoccurring, they also addressed the issue in a prompt manner. They also handed out 50% coupons to future products as well, so that in essence with the adhesive is a solution not a band aid fix.
the 50% coupon is irrelevant to the issue...it was more of a "we're sorry" gesture and will encourage people to keep rather than return their purchases. in any case, if you pay $60 for a product and get a 50% off for a future purchase, that pretty much means you're paying $90 for two items...i'm sure Graft is still well in the green by taking this route.

the way i see it, the skin is like when Apple gave out free bumpers post-Antenna-gate. it's a work-around for an existing problem, not an actual fix to the design of the product itself.

You're right, but from a small business standpoint its about all they can do.

You do understand they fixed the issue. So you have no argument.

So it will not scratch your phone if you put it on without the invisible skin?

A skin is not a fix for the bumper itself, it's just a way around the problem! No?
How about if you had to tape down your iPhone to hold it togheter because let's say some parts are loose (this is just an example), would that be a fix or a try to go around the problem of really fixing it? If i understand you, you would have no problem with a fix like that..

I mean it's a 60 dollar case, it should be fixed the real way, like redesigning the bumper so it doesn't scratch the phone. Not adding something to your phone.

EDIT: Oh, i didn't read what you guys above wrote to each other but i totally agree with Atmosphere here. It's simply not a real fix.

Great investment for me. Even though the case is $60, I have stopped buying cases/bumpers etc because of the leverage. Not wasting money on other items that I don't like etc. That is what it all winds down to.

The problem with your argument is that you automatically assume that every case will scratch the iphone. It's a case by case thing. Two of my friends have it, and they both don't have scratches at all, i just check it today. Sure, its a 'temporarily' fix, but I still believe that they have done enough for people to continue purchasing it. If you don't like the case because of the chance that it'll scratch, then simply don't buy it and like someone else said, less bickering.

But i like the case enough and feel secure enough with the wraps for me to buy it. Like I said before, i was already thinking of buying the wraps anyways so it's a nice plus along with the backplate.

i don't think that saying it only affects some but not all products is a good selling point. are you willing to purchase and use one based on that risk? at least based on the rumblings here, it seems as though most cases are causing scratches.

whether or not their solution is sufficient is completely subjective.

i would like to get this case but i guess i will wait till it is updated so that it doesnt chip, peel and or scratch device. From paying so much on a case i dont expect to see these defects. What back covers work with this case besides the plan black one it comes with. I would love to get one of those brush finish ones with apple logo that i have seen ...

can u guys share the back plates that u are using with this case?

I'm not saying its affecting some. I'm saying its a case by case thing. From my own experience with two friends and online reviews, its a good case with no scratches. It's just here is where people come to write specifically on the graft that they get scratches. Everything has risks, even the iPhone 4 had the antenna-gate haha

But yeah, i'm going to agree with you, the solution is completely subjective.

Well I must have horrible luck. My lever literally snapped in 2 has I was removing the case to put on the white back I had just received, hopefully they replace it since I have only had the case a week and have only taken it off twice.

you are not the only one this has happened to, someone reported a similar incident earlier in this thread.
I was shocked when it happened. I really like the case but after this, it definitely isnt worth $60 to me. Its a $30-40 product imo.

I love this case, but the matte black finish is coming off the edges. I am so disappointed that this is happening to a $60 case!

I send them an Email. Will let you know what they say.

Agreed, I've stopped buying cases as well after I got the Leverage and haven't really had any problems with it. Just checked their Facebook page and it looks like they're offering 20% off for Cyber Monday. Thinking about getting another one or a few as gifts...

Good customer service. I heard back quickly and they are sending out a replacement.

I am not sure if the new one will fare any better, but we will see...

I got an email last night stating the same. Hopefully it ships out today.

Fingers crossed for the longevity of the case, but I am getting a lot of comments from people about how good it looks...

I just fitted the Trunket Sea Blue wood cover to my phone over the weekend.

Looks great man.
Just a question, is the sea blue more towards the black or the blues are very saturate? It's hard to say. On the Trunket site looks very blue but on regular photos looks dark on the black side with faint hues of blue.

Yeah I am on the fence here, I have the White and Black Graft Leverage. And they look amazing on the white iPhone, however the white does discolor as will all materials of that kind.

So I don't want to put it on.

The black on my white iPhone is a bit weird so I don't like that either.

And I have a few Vapor Pros which have better protection but not as much wow factor. When I had the graft on I got sooooo many compliments but I have dropped my phone with the Vapor Pro and haven't seen one issue due to the bumpers and extra padding on the inside where as this case only has plastic casing. Decisions Decision.

:highfive:

i kinda wish i went with the blue instead of black trunket, but i have no complaints. i'm crossing my fingers that the Graft will hold up as well, and if not, i hope something goes wrong before the warranty's up
