It's not possible that the iTrip signal is passing through you ... it's *certain*. That's the nature of radio-frequency EM waves. If they didn't travel through things, you wouldn't be able to listen to the radio at all. At the same time, your body, which contains water solutions containing electrolytes (i.e. your blood and cerebrospinal fluid) is a conductor. And so it changes the properties of EM fields around it.

That being said, it's pretty unlikely that they're having an impact on you. People have been using transmission devices in this bandwidth for ages. If you do have concerns about your cardiovascular health, though...you should definitely see a doctor.

To be be honest, the symptoms you describe are very consistent with anxiety. It is possible to create exactly the same symptoms just because you're worried about your iTrip giving you cancer. To which there are several solutions...(A) Don't use the iTrip, (B) Desensitize yourself to the anxiety surrounding its use and gather the relevant data (which is plentifully available) which suggests that such devices are safe....

Sorry...I don't know if any of that is helpful to you.

Thanks for your help! I know it was kind of a stupid question, but I couldn't help wondering. Also, someone close to me died of cancer so I think I'm extra aware of those things now. Thanks again.

I can understand being extra wary of it after having lost someone. I'm so sorry for your loss. :( I work with a lot of children with cancer in this area, and I couldn't imagine losing any of them. :(

Another thing that might make you feel better is that devices just like the iTrip have existed basically ever since there have been walkmans and the like. They never looked as cute, but they've been around for a number of years. If I find any more information on safety of such devices, I'd be happy to pass it on. :)

That happened to me, except I had it in my truck's console, and someone kicked the iTrip, pulling the plug out. Shoot 'em off an e-mail and they should take care of it for you. I got my replacement in a little over a week.

iTrip is a bit crap

Just got the new itrip for 30G Video ipod and it really sucks for the money!. €70 and supposedly has a range of 30foot yet I cant' get it to work 30mm away!.

There is a lot of interference too and doesnt tune into channels correctly. Very disappointed :(

Save your money folks!.

30mm is what? A little more than an inch? You're probably too close.

Yup 30mm are 3cm and thats about 1.2 inch

In some regions youll not get happy with your itrip, because there are too many stations around. when im close to the border to czech republik, i cant get the itrip working very well, because there are only 2 or 3 frequencies you can use and there are czech radio-stations streaming :/

A few weeks ago, the CD player in my car went wonky, so I bought an iTrip. I live in Chicago, and the only way I could get the thing to work without interference was to unscrew the antenna on top of my car. Still, it never seemed loud enough, the sound quality seemed a bit subpar, and I would still get a decent amount of interference when driving downtown.

I got fed up with it and just ended up just buying a new iPod-ready Alpine stereo. A lot more expensive, but a much better solution for me, personally.

Useless in the city

I live well outside of London where my new version iTrip works fine. If I drive into the city, it's totally useless. They're basically rural devices.

Oh gosh those things are junk. They really never work right
