Yes it was really hot. I did reboot iphone but, still no luck. This is the version i found through cydia (0.1-11q) and i added this source (http://cydia.ipitg.net)

Let me know if i am using the wrong version or if i should go through another source.

Thanks
Sri

The newest version is r and you can download/install it through SSH. That is the easiest way, at least until the cydia repos are updated.

Ok i will try installing version r tonight. Are there any installation steps to do it through SSH? I am new to this jailbreak stuff and it scares me.

Thanks
Sri

I was able to install the new version r successfully and i do not see my iphone getting HOT anymore. I will keep you guys posted if i run into issues again.

Thanks

Is there any chance of this coming to Cydia soon, for those of us that don't want to SSH? (Read: N00bs)

GriP Notifications

Hi,

I m new here and I like that forum very much. I m German and live for some years here in India, New Delhi.

I have a problem with GriP. I downloaded via skype the latest version of GriP, and E Mail Notifications are coming. How can I configure, that I can receive Notifications from Beejive? I have an iPhone 3Gs hackivated. Is it only working with offical unlocked iPhones? Must be the offical red Notification Button on? How can I do it/ Is GriP SMS working with Bite SMS together?

I know, here a lot of questions, but I m shure that some of you also wan't to know, how to solve this issues.

Thank you very much in advance

GriP Notifications

It is me again,

sorry,

I downloaded GriP from Cydia, not from Skype.

cheers

Is it the latest revision though?

I really liked GRiP, but I just turned it off because I'm using LockInfo. If the ability to access the Message Log from the springboard opens up I'm enabling it right away. It'd be awesome if it could do what Android does with messages.

I looked today, version "r" is the newest and that's what I saw.

Look for GriP-Growl

I got this message as well

EDIT well I SSHed myself so now I have it haha, however I can't get my SMS to appear, mail and push notifications work, but not SMS? I must have it configured wrong. Anyone using it have some ideas? I have iSmsrealquick installed if that matters

There is a separate .deb file for SMS which isn't on the repo.

I used mobile teminal (wget) to download n install (dpkg -i)

iPhone 3g 3.0

Anyone knows the problem?

Thanks

Oh, thanks. Sorry just We post at the same time, didn't see ya post.

SSH it in to tmp folder (with say Cyberduck) then send command thru Cyberduck " dpkg -i /tmp/GriPSMSNotification_1.1.deb" (without quotation marks)

If you don't know how to SSH, use Google and get a tutorial from a place like iClarified.

Downloaded the above SMS file, install thru mobile terminal root. Re-spring but no luck..

Help-

The command for mobile terminal is different. I gave you the command to use with CyberDuck.

If you SSH the .deb file into root/var, then use these commands in Mobile Terminal

Type "su" and hit return when you first launch terminal then it will ask for a password
type "alpine" then tap return

type cd ~ ; dpkg -i GriPSMSNotification_1.1.deb

You have to watch upper and lower case (must be exact, spaces, tildas not dashes)

Watch the Mobile Terminal window, you can see if the commands cause it to be installed or not.

Respring your device. If you don't what is respring, simply type killall SpringBoard.

Found the problem, was using iblacklist to block popups.

It was blocking GriP SMS's as well. Once I disable it, GriP works!

Love how I could pop into mail or SMS from my lockinfo & it looks so good--

Thks for the help dlizrd!

Wait... So can iBlacklist block all Missed Call notifications? I have lockinfo as well and I don't need those to show up on my lockscreen.

Yup, use Grip for push, email,SMS n iblacklist to block missed calls.

Perfect setup for lockinfo!
