Gucci sells to people that want to look rich not actual rich people. Hence the monthly payment s
People really make payments on this garbage?

If you’re making payments on a designer purse, then you can’t afford it. That’s just ridiculous.

I pay for everything in cash. I don’t believe in financing, unless it’s to the likes of like a mortgage or investment for a business.

I don’t suspect average consumers would. This appeals to a niche demographic that would really have to appreciate the style and the branding behind Gucci.

It’s like those who I don’t understand that pay ~$90 for a white Kim Kardashian T-shirt at a K-Dash store in the city that I live in. It’s a bit ridiculous for a cotton T-shirt. But hey, it’s their money and how they choose to spend it.
The lack of public shaming is why society is the way it is today. I am sorry but if you spend $90 on a white cotton t-shirt you are a fool. Simple as that.

This is a common misconception. The overwhelming majority of people who buy name brand "luxury" are actually poorer to middle class in an attempt to look richer than they are. Celebrities etc all get this stuff for free to convince fans this is what is needed to look rich.
Majority of the time it has to do with the look and fashion. Nothing more to it. I actually own lots of Gucci products not because I want to look richer it’s because it actually is unique and looks cool.

Makes sense that they are opening a huge store at local mall as several others have shuttered. Looking forward to shopping for $500 slides.

So they had a board meeting at Gucci and not one person raised their hand to say “Don’t you think this is a little too dystopian, even for us?”

I was looking for the adjective to describe how I was feeling about this product and how it reflects on humanity.

Dystopian is really really good.....

The point is not to understand, but to identify what you can buy for a few dollars and sell to the masses for 100x that...

The kind of rich people who stay rich. Don't just buy random expensive junk because they can. That's how a lot of people who become rich end up broke a couple years after their big paycheck stops rolling in.

Their items are all emblazoned with a logo. It looks like it's all designed to stand out. In a horrible way. For people to advertise that they have money. Which leads me to believe their target group is really people who want others to think they are wealthy. People making a decent income and swimming in debt.
That be ladies who don tacky looking tracksuits, ridiculous highheels, covering in bling, wearing dark sunglasses, chewing gum, going 'hiya luv' or 'watcha' :)

Would seem Gucci prices it's name much higher than Apple. Probably costs $300 to make and the rest is for the privilege of having the name 'Gucci' stamped on it.
I’m pretty sure it costs even less to make it. Their profit margin is probably 1000%.

maybe us lot do not understand Gucci because we are not stupendously rich to understand Gucci.
There’s not much to understand. It’s there to show that you have money. If it cost less, they wouldn’t buy it. They could also spend less and get better quality and better looking stuff custom made for them, but then no one would know it cost a lot.

This reminds me of the iJustine Mac Pro & XDR monitor unboxing video. When she first connected her screen to the stand and saw how it connect magnetically, she was all surprised and "OMG! Don't let anybody tell you you're not worth $999!" I swear, she and so many people are so out of touch with the less fortunate. Yes, I know, this stuff isn't geared for the little peons, but I seriously doubt that some of these products cost anywhere near $1000 to design and manufacture.

Anyone else waiting for the cheap knockoff? It looks heinous but a little better than the bra case at least!

Seems like they would put some pockets for cash or credit cards since it's so similar to a purse

At last, the product we’ve all been waiting for

One would have to sell a kidney to afford that. It's kinda funny that Gucci's website says "monthly payments available". The average Gucci customer has enough cash to not need monthly payments; only people who waste their money on luxury despite having an average income would need this.
Your understanding of economics is questionable))) No one would sell a kidney for this, but a lot of people put things they can't afford an credit cards. This has been true since credit cards were first introduced :)
