I don't know what's worse: the fact that it's ugly and garish, or Gucci copied Apple's idiotic case design.

Either way, it's simply awful.

Seeing things like this out in the wild is one of the many ways I discern between those who've got their head screwed on straight, and those who do not.

Would you spend less than one penny if it made you happy for a day?
No, because what about the next day? And the next? And so forth? Money doesn't make people happy. If it did, you wouldn't see so many famous people with more money than either of us will ever attain, hanging themselves in closests and slowly killing themselves with drugs and alcohol.

To find real, meaningful, lasting happiness, you need to search in other places. Gucci is not it. And neither is your figurative half-penny.

Even if it was a full penny, that's $3.65 annually to be happy. You can't swing $4 a year for happiness? Better go the other route - a monk!

After they're stolen in a smash & grab robbery, you'll be able to buy one a whole lot cheaper on eBay!

Yes, even for four dollars a year, I would not pay it. Because I would rather fix what's at the root of my unhappiness, rather than slapping on a daily bandaid and calling it a day.

Many more people without money kill themselves both with nooses, drugs, alcohol, guns, cars, etc. and never make the news because it’s ordinary, common. Rich, famous people we hear of on the news. While spending money isn’t a source of happiness, it can bring happiness for a while. Do you suggest the ”Make a Wish Foundation” should stop sending kids dying with cancer to Disney World, because it’s costs a little? What brings happiness isn’t universal to everyone.

Unfortunately most of the suicide incidents take place in the underprivileged poorer communities

If someone is wealthy enough where $1K is less than a penny to everyone else and this case makes them happy
for a day, why not?
Your very premise that “$1K is less than a penny to everyone else” says far more about what’s wrong with this world than the existence of a garish and obscenely overpriced carry bag. But I dare not get into that debate now that MR has essentially banned any discussion deemed to be political or off-topic.

You can't buy happiness... I mean money can put a smile in your face and relieve a lot of stress, but cannot buy happiness.

If you have to buy it, it's not a real feeling.

I will take the next best thing - a cold can of coke after a long day of teaching to perk me up for an after learning journey of remedial class or meetings. And that’s something money can buy. You should see what some of my colleagues splurge on bubble tea.

There are, right this second, millions of people spending money on things that I wouldn’t buy. Things that I could easily find an almost unlimited number of “better things to spend the money on”.

Perhaps I could take the time to tell them all that they should be buying something else that they don’t actually want, but I do. However, I think I’ll stuck to just understanding that they probably have different tastes, personal circumstances, disposable income etc to me and therefore it’s probably best for them to actually just buy the thing that they decided upon with those factors taken into account.

Rather than stand here and dispense hackneyed sayings.

I think you misunderstood my post, I am not in any way telling how people should spend money, heck I too as everyone else from time to time buy something I don't really need and find pleasure in purchasing it anyway.

My post was not a life lesson, not at all, you say you understand different tastes yet you just showed you do not understand different opinions.

The problem I see with these products and brands is that people buy them to get status and respect which is super superficial. I don’t care what other people do with their money, really, but when I see people on the street with these brands I can’t help but to smile for myself just for this cause.
