Gucci Releases $980 Case for $549 AirPods Max

Just because you're rich, don't you still feel like a sucker for buying $1,000 headphone cases and $500 t-shirts?

Doesn't it feel good enough to be wealthy that you don't have to become a walking advertisement for luxury brands to let everyone know how rich* you are?



*or how much you've maxed out your credit cards
 
You don'y have to (or can't afford to?) understand #Gucci unless you're
a customer. And to be clear, I am not. They DO make quality stuff though. Read the book. Not just about the murder.

Among the amusing aspects of this is that the core design was plainly influenced by Apple's case for these headphones (something neither Apple nor Gucci should feel good about). We all thought it looked like a purse, and apparently so did Gucci.

Let me help you. This costs them $50 to make, and their brand alone is enough marketing to get them hundreds of sales at a 90% margin. Whatever they don’t sell, they literally burn.
 
Another thread another bunch of whiny peasants. It’s not ok to tell others how to spend their money especially when they choose to buy an apple product but when it comes to another brand well lookie here this is such a rip off! Never seen such hypocrites except on this board.

Not only are they unbelievably expensive. They're also incredibly tacky. It's like they took the worst stuff that ever came out of the 60s through 80s and put a huge price tag on it.

All the shots of models with bags look horrible. The models look like they are hating life for dressing up in those absurd outfits.

AirPods Max is priced at $550, meaning Gucci's case is nearly double the cost of the product it is designed for. Gucci does offer another case for standard headphones that costs $920, but it isn't designed for the AirPods Max specifically.

Then there's this...what worth is it in the rain? A $900 wet sponge? Jeez a ziplock would be more useful to me.
 
While it looks fashionable, its again almost useless to prevent wear and tear of head band part of the AirPods Max that goes on your head as well as keeping it clean.

I agree with you, but I would assume that we’re not the target audience.
Some people, however, find this sort of, I guess the kids these days would call it “drip”, necessary and desirable and would absolutely go into debt for it just to appear as if they can afford it.
 
Very tacky :rolleyes: come on! LV or Hérmes would do a better job with their classier plain leather! As if I’d fork out £1K to carry the APM for which ‘am yet to whip out the wallet .
