If Apple didn’t have anything interesting to announce, they would do it via press release. Airpods pro and airpods max both were announced via press release and those are a lot more interesting than run of the mill ipad refreshes. I don’t have to be an analyst to know gurman is off base here

But a company cannot keep such innovation going and I do not know where this expectation that everything Apple makes should be some groundbreaking piece of technology.

They make very good pieces of consumer technology but so do a lot of other good companies too.
Nobody expects revolutionary updates every year and for every product line. I agree with you, but then seeing Apple releasing virtually the same products over and over and over again with a component update here and there at most, pushes the limits of corporate complacency.

This expectation of groundbreaking stuff came from Apple itself; when they were in a position to make more with less and release at a faster cadence. At the end it all boils down to leadership.

So for Tuesday the ipad pros are a given
And along side there can be the most important product from this event -24” imac there are a lot of leaks for this , 21.” Is almost removed, macos beta 11.3 shows some imacs in xcode crash logs
There can be also apple tv, ?airtags?

Yes everything is pointing to new iMacs especially with apple prioritizing moving its consumer line from intel to Apple silicon asap.

Also with the explosion in working from home Apple wants a share of that market and refreshed Apple silicon iMacs is the next logical step.

I’m still excited for the event. I feel like Apple has at least 1 killer announcement otherwise what’s the point?
Think back to Apple events of the past 5 years. What has really been significant aside from Apple Silicon, redesigned Mac Pro, Pro Display XDR and Face ID?

Apple has an amazing lineup and I love just about everything, but every announcement is somewhat disappointing and doesn’t always have a killer feature/product.

So tired of waiting for some sign of innovation, new products are stuck in limbo until there obsolete. How many years do we have to talk about stuff until it becomes a reality? I can’t remember what I lost waiting for a reasonable tracker. These are some of the highest paid people on earth and they can’t get products out in a reasonable time. I wonder what will happen to the spaceship when someone comes along and eats Apple’s lunch?

Even if shipment dates are moved back to September it’s inconceivable that Apple won’t showcase new iMacs.

Apple can preview an iMac that will be released later on in the year. This way it would allow the hype to get people to salivate and save up for it so when it launches it will sell out faster.
they don’t need to do that for MacBooks because they just need to launch those during a month more people are buying tech for college.
If they don’t preview something amazing people will forget this event quickly.

Right because you would know...
I don't think there will be that much. Apple, contrary to views by many on here is not immune to the supply chain issues and shortages every other company is facing. Other than iPads I can't see any new mac products being announced unless they can actually provide them which I doubt they can at this stage

Apple is (not without cause) blamed as being part of the reason for the component shortage, as they are said to have reserved capacities further in advance (up to two years) than usual, when other more cautious companies cut back on their orders due to Covid market uncertainties.
They may not be completely shielded from supply issues of course.
Apple invested billions of dollars into TSMC’s latest fab specifically to have access to the latest manufacturing technologies. They’ve been doing this since the 90s, when they invested $150 million with Samsung to get the costs of LCD panels down. Maybe other companies should think more of their future than next quarter’s earnings.

Are people forgetting that they technically innovated with the Apple Silicon? I was expecting it to be pretty good, but not THAT GOOD to where it competes with an i9 right out of the gate on the lowest Macs available. And why I sold my $4,500 i9 iMac for a $1,000 Mac mini with far better performance.

I really do not know what people expect.

Where did you read about Apple inesting in TSMC? They might be buying billions dollars worth of chips from them but I do not think there are any investments involved.

Bloomberg's highly-respected Mark Gurman
The guy is an idiot. I wish MacRumors wouldn’t even bother putting his sh?? Up here.
On what basis do you claim that someone is an idiot?

Whenever Gurman says that some product won't be revealed at an Apple event, he's right.
For instance, many expected the first AS Macs to be revealed right at WWDC. Gurman warned a week ahead of time: no new hardware. He was right. He did the same on at least two other occasions while others predicted some particular products, and he was also right.
His reliability is about 90%.
