I honestly do not see an iPhone 6 happening this year. My take is we'll see a total revamp of the Mac Mini as radical as the Mac Pro and something on the iPod line addressing the smartwatch craze.

Really? You see Apple not doing anything with the most important product they have?

Better than having Negatron manufacture the phones.....

"Nope not gonna work! Samsung will copy this and Android will rule anyways, you think Apple's marketshare is up, then its not!"

I could see Apple introducing a 5.7 (or slightly larger) phone so they'd have a range of devices with 2" screen size differences.

12" iPad, 10" iPad Air, 8" iPad Mini, 6" iPhone, 4" iPhone, 2" iWatch

4.7" is perfect. Has anyone seen the HTC One? It's 4.7" and it actually looks like an iPhone. I wouldn't mind that size.

5.7" is too big. If we keep going up in size, the 7.9" iPad Mini will be converted to an iPhone soon..

They're going to release a 4.5-4.7 inch phone which the majority of people will love. And then they're also gong to release a phablet like phone at 5.5-5.7 inches, which some people will like even more. I don't see what the problem is. Just get over your feelings of inadequacy - if you don't want the larger model then choose the smaller model. No one is going to think your phone is worse because you chose the GS3 (equivalent) instead of the GS Note 3 (equivalent).

They should keep the 4 inch size for the females as they like it small enough to fit into a purse. The 4.7" for us manly folk.

Pants pockets keep getting smaller and phones keep getting bigger.....

So stupid.

If Apple was so fashion driven, and a trend setter, it makes no sense to develop larger phones when they already have tablets available....

I feel if Steve was still alive, phones would be smaller and we'd already have a fully functioning watch phone, not 5 different size tablets....

K, i'm off my soapbox :D

Mac Mini, quad-i7, 750M, TBolt2, SSD. Perfect.

A bigger iPhone was a no brainier 2 years ago at that time andriod began to surpass Apple in sales/ Probably largely because people believed they were one-upping the iPhone. While I'm sure most of those people have found that to not actually be the case, a larger iPhone would be one-upping the iPhone. Then there would be very little reason to buy a galaxy. It's frustrating to me that they've waited so long. My wild guess is that the product pipeline for the iPhone 5 and 5S was Steve's last instruction. Tim chose not to deviate, partly out of respect, and partly because he didn't want to rock the boat as Apple's new leader.

Also, I would love it if Apple got rid of iPhone generation numbering, and went with a series. The iPhone A, B, & C series. Like luxury car manufacturers do.

I heard a rumour that they're getting some of them made in my garden shed. It's got tools and everything!!!

Kinda feels like it's a little too early for these rumours.

I agree with this, but 2 years ago I didn't want a larger screen phone. Now even though I have the 5 I want a screen about the same size as the S3. No I don't want to go over to Android phones, I love iOS and I can't/won't leave the Apple ecosystem.

I'm not too sure if we should leave the numbering system behind, it's kind of weird how the next phone isn't the sixth but will probably be called it. Maybe it should be corrected and every year we have say the iPhone 6/6c and next year we have the 7/7c.

Some people seem to think that Apple will have an earlier release of the iPhone to make it more in line with the Galaxy released, it's still very much a possibility.

I think adding another column of icons would be perfect. The current (5S) screen just seems too narrow.

The current iPhone screen is 16:9 just like almost every other smartphone on the market.

The reason they made the iPhone "taller" was to get to 16:9 from the former aspect ratio of 3:2

IMO, Samsung S3 (and phones that followed, HTC One, S4, etc) had hit the sweet spot of the bigger phone size niche and Apple would be smart to use the same dimensions.

Looking at the Samsung Note users, the niche doesn't seem as established: users range from business users who need more screen space to users who simply prefer to have everything larger. The size niche is not so well defined, since the phones are generally carried in bags and suitcases. The pockets are not a benchmark anymore.

Additional perk of the larger phones: larger, longer-lasting battery. (Optional thicker and larger battery for the S3/S4 is quite popular among business users.)

Me personally, I still prefer the size of the current iPhone and use it as a benchmark.

P.S. BTW Measuring phones by the screen size doesn't work anymore, since bezel is getting thinner and thinner.

There's no reason for them not to bring out a new phone and print more money.

That 5" iPhone in the mockup would be massive, the SIII is already at the limits of a one-handed grip.

Full HD

Make a full HD, 1920x1080, 5.5 to 6.0" screen and just scale up all current iPhone 5 apps since it's the same 16:9 aspect ratio.

They should just have two sizes.
Keep the current 4 inch and continue to upgrade it (faster processor and better camera), and introduce a 5 inch iPhone (or 4.7 inch)

I have female friends who stated that they chose the iPhone over Samsung because of the size. And the main reason for wanting a smaller phone is to be able to do everything on the phone with one hand.

:D I presume that they want to use their other hand to hold their purse :D

So, the models will be as follows:
iPhone 6 (4 inch) (4x6 icons)
iPhone 6 Pro (5 inch) (5x6 or 4x6 icons spaced wider)

2 flagship sizes

Make sure you bring out 2 flagship phones at different sizes... not everyone will want a larger than 4" screen.
