I'm not trolling. And I don't have any better suggestions than those offered in this thread. But people shouldn't say that the answer is that you have to have an iCloud email since that is 100% not correct. For me, and at least a couple other friends I've confirmed with, Handoff/Continuity works even when the iCloud account doesn't even have an iCloud email created for it.

Ok I understand..

Since no one really knows why handoff works for some and not for others, it's best to throw things around which have worked for some people. One of the thing to work was creating an iCloud email and connect it to your Apple ID email that you use (do it on the apple id webpage). This seems to have solved for Max(IT) and for me as well.

Perhaps if people for whom the handoff is not working can try this method (which won't take too much time), it may get it working for them.

I also read somewhere else, that if you switch off bluetooth on your devices, switch it back on and then restart all the devices, then handoff has started working for some people...

It's best to throw it out if something has worked for you.. It may or may not be correct information, but if it works for some, then hallelujah...

It works flawlessly for me, and I use my own email address as the account username for my iCloud account. In order to get my MBA to participate I had to remove the blue tooth pairing and all was fine. Naturally all devices participate in the keychain sharing as well.

Not woking for me, using an iPhone 6, iPad mini Retina and a rMBP 2012. It's, for me at least, a ****** feature that's unreliable. Not many developers have jumped on board yet with it either, a lot of developers are getting slower and slower in adopting new iOS features it seems. Do you guys remember that widget for eBay shown at WWDC, yeah still not there yet lol.

I wish Apple would implement requirements for new screen size supports the next time an app developer wants to push an update, and iOS 8 support too.

It has worked flawlessly for me.

I enabled handoff on all devices, turned on bluetooth on all devices, and signed out of iCloud on all devices, and then signed back in.

After this, I never had one issue with handoff.

Text Transfer over?

Has anyone gotten text transfer to work? I'm talking about starting an email or text message on your phone then switching to your mac or iPad using the "pop-up icon" that opens the corresponding app and have the text be there? It is the only thing that isn't and has never worked for me.

I just checked. For me, email handoff works. Text message handoff doesn't transfer the text for some reason, it comes up blank. Strange. I guess there is one thing that doesn't work for me.

Agreed. I tested out the Mail app and it does seem to work on both the iPad an Macbook Pro now, but I am unable to get the text transfer for Messages.

Handoff is not working properly. I tried using it with my iPad 2 and iPhone 5s. I make sure it was on my Mac. I notice that I did not have Bluetooth on in my Mac is that the reason why is not working?

Yes. Turn on handoff and bluetooth on all devices for handoff to work. If it somehow doesn't work, sign out and back in to iCloud inside settings.

Works just fine for me. Use it all the time between my iPhone and Mac if I want to see webpages in more detail, or if I want to attach something to an email from my Mac. Very useful.

Why is this thread still going when the OP dropped a hate bomb and hasn't been seen since?

Because others have the same problem. I guess they could start another thread, but I would think it is better to use this thread, correct? :)

Is handoff supported on iPad 2?? I thought it doesn't...

It's miserable. It was just working earlier this week and now it doesn't work again. Complete joke. The thing that's so frustrating is that it's so useful when it works, but it's such a waste of time troubleshooting it when it fails that it's not even worth it.

The last sentence is really good advice. Done that a few times and it usually does the trick. That being said, it is a HUGE hassle to keep doing this (I've done it on multiple occasions already) primarily because it removes your cards from Passbook. Just did this trick yesterday but now I have to add my cards back and call all my banks again.

It works quite well for me...even tranferring the wifi network and password to all other devices.

It works for me consistently going from my Mac to my iPhone. I turn on my iPhone and I see the little icon in the lower left of the lock screen showing the app that is running on my Mac (e-mail, safari, maps).

It almost never works going from my iPhone to my Mac. I'm looking at a web page on my iPhone, I want to view it on my Mac, I look at the dock on my Mac and there is nothing there. No icon to bring up that iPhone web page on my Mac.

For all the people here saying "it works, it works" does it work both directions? Is there anything special you have to do to get it to work going from iPhone to Mac?
