What exactly was amazing about it? I haven't found it useful at all. In fact, it only seems to get in the way. For instance, trying to reorder my favorite contacts was a nightmare. Ended up face timing several people on accident because finding the pressure sweet spot to drag and drop and to reorder was frustrating. Honestly, if there's a way to disable it altogether I probably will...
Huh? I don't think you can use 3D Touch to re-order your Favorite contacts.

You are all Apple sheeps . It is clear that the first motivation for Apple is money not innovation. I doubt that they are still able to innovate like they were with Steve Jobs...

And, you are nothing about money in life? A regular Vincent van Gogh!

When Apple was not making money like the board actually kicked him out - everyone is about money in most issues!

Sheep plural is ... what?

Sorry, I shoud have used Google before posting this important fact. It's of course "sheepies". Btw: I tried the Iphone 6s out but nobody had crayons. So maybe that's why I didn't understand the wonders that 3 D Touch can bring...

On my 6s I haven't yet got used to 3D Touch. The only thing I'm using it for so far is new safari tabs. Not having touchID before I can safely say this is my favourite feature so far!

Oh and I changed from O2 to ID mobile who are an mvno on three and their signal is excellent round me! I was worried as they have no 2G but doesn't seem to matter.

Please read more carefully. They didn't say 3D Touch "to reorder contacts" - they said "during" reordering their contacts the natural touch pressure you use to move contacts up or down the list, ends up "misfiring" the force touch mechanism which brings up a window where FaceTimimg people is a choice.

For those who said that 3D Touch is a gimmick, you have to try using it to appreciate it. One thing that is really useful for me is the keyboard changing into a trackpad when it is 3D Touched.

Tried it yesterday at Best Buy and it's awesome.
I felt like the pressure threshold was probably too much though, I'll diminish it when I get my real phone.

Many people in here learned alot from Apple and even use the same awesomely incredible vocabularies.

3D Touch is not a game changer at this point in time. It can be useful but it also can be useless as the majority of APPS don't have this feature. Right now it's more of a short cut to specific APPS
It takes a bit of a learning curve to get it right as its new
there may be great potential down the road

Tried it out in store. The problem right now is that a lot of the preinstalled first-party applications don't even support the basic home screen shortcuts, which basically means that I have to remember/try which apps have shortcuts and which don't. Something they should try to do is possibly add some sort of visual hints as to where there are force touch actions available.
totally agree. I tried it in a store as well. I like it in a couple of places where it's used well like safari and Mail. but as you say, the problem is that there are absolutely no visual clues as the whether or not some particular button supports 3d touch. unless this is changed it will result in 3d touch not being utilized by the vast majority of users like the numerous modifier keys shortcuts in OS X. and that will be a shame. Apple should definitely do something about it. the simplest would be to add some kind of border or shadow to buttons supporting 3d touch to let users know it's there. of course this might give Jony Ive conniptions so I'm not really hopeful.

I would also find it more natural in many situations if the regular press and a strong press functionality was switched. perhaps not everywhere but in Safari and Mail I think it would be more convenient if a regular press brought a preview and a strong press worked as a regular press does now.

It's only been 3 days since iPhones with 3D Touch have been available to the public. 3 days.

Some apps have already been updated to support 3D Touch. And plenty more apps will have it in the future.

Give it time.

Well, then adjust it to what feel comfortable. You can. Seriously there are a hell of a lot of whiners.

Within a year, I'd bet everything (that's still being updated) will have 3D Touch functions and you won't have to wonder about it anymore. Puttting something to indicate depth may have helped initially, but it would also clutter the interface visually.

Other users, like forum member Boardiesboi, note that the feature does take getting used to and that he adjusted the sensitivity on the feature so that it responds to lighter touches.
Is it just me, or is there little to no difference between light/medium/firm setting?

Another thing I notice is that the longer I "peek," the harder I need to push down to "pop" into the content.

I agree. I immediately turned it down to the lowest threshold, and I wouldn't mind if I could set it even lower. I really enjoy using it, though. I can hardly wait for apps to start using it. I'd like all apps to have shortcuts on the main app icon, and also allow popover content whenever it makes sense. For example, it would be great if I could hard press Adrian Peterson's name in my FF app, and get a popup of his stats without leaving the current screen.

I don't understand why people love the 3D Touch so much. There's aren't really any apps that take advantage of it.

Not yet. Give it time. The phone just launched 2 days ago. And you know Apple - they didn't let developers get their hand on this code early. Not Apple's way... sadly. Within the next 6 months you'll see huge change here.

In the mean time it's uses in Messages and Mail and Stocks and many other apps are totally worth it!!
